Very cool. Glad to have him. This is the third defensive back in this class, though; is this a bad sign about Mathis?

Re: Troy Hill commits
Id take as many DB in this class to prevent db depth that went thin like after glasper and walter went down.

Well were losing Glasper and Thurmond this year and then we lose Jackson after next year....
Are both Mitchel and Scales recruited to play CB?

Re: Troy Hill commits
I think Scales is being recruited as a safety while Mitchell is a CB. I wouldn't be shocked if we get about 5-6 DBs in this class since our depth at S and CB is going to be kind of low after this year.Boom wrote:Well were losing Glasper and Thurmond this year and then we lose Jackson after next year....

The coaches also do have a long, proud history of converting DBs to play offense. Jeremiah Johnson, Jeff Maehl, and Kenjon Barner off the top of my head.

Great pick up!
We will still take Dior Mathis btw, so don't worry about him. Scales is probably one of our least talented DBs in this class, so look for him to redshirt. Mitchell and Hill we got sure, but I doubt that would change anything about Mathis.
Also, was this the commit rivals was calling 'good news'?

No according to Brandon at Rivals there is a more than one "good news" the Ducks will be getting from now on through to the AAA game, including some surprises! There are some players who are pretty much expected to be picking the Ducks soon whereas according to him there will be some unexpected guys!UOducksTK1 wrote:Great pick up!

Re: Troy Hill commits
The other day Greatwood told somebody I know that the Ducks recruiting class is pretty much full at this time, which means there are several recruits out there the coaches are counting on being Ducks that haven't publicly made it known yet.

Re: Troy Hill commits
I hope not. Dont get me wrong I'm stoked about landing Hill but losing an awesome looking RB and getting a good defensive back isn't the great news I think they were hyping. "some bad news but good news to overshadow it" was I think the gist of it. I think there is more to come.UOducksTK1 wrote:Great pick up!

I sincerely hope that we get Lattimore. Apart from his obvious physical talent, I want his leadership and personality on the team.

I think we all know why Scales was recruited.
Yes, I know....trust the coaches. I hope they are right.
This new corner weighs 160 pounds. I am shocked we can't get more "ready out of the box" talent. Utah State must be pissed because they missed on this guy.
