I think we all know why Scales was recruited.
Yes, I know....trust the coaches. I hope they are right.
This new corner weighs 160 pounds. I am shocked we can't get more "ready out of the box" talent. Utah State must be pissed because they missed on this guy.

Users on Rivals consider him a 4 star...have you even seen him or even watched his videos?
I hope you're not as ignorant as your comment makes you seem.
The main point I was trying to make was about Scales. THAT one seems like a bit of a reach to me. But I may be "ignorant". I guess you have all the info and are far smarter than I am.
And as for watching video on Hill, no I have not. I am simply a knee-jerk recruiter 3000 miles away from Oregon's athletic department. I was simply stating that I was surprised that we are recruiting a 5'10" 160 lb guy to play corner. I have no other option but to trust the coaches. Can I not express an opinion without a beatdown? I post very little due to the fact that I have no real inside knowledge of Oregon football. I am just an alum and fan and would like to ask a question now and then. Is that OK with you?
For all those who posted about lower-ranked players from the past that went on to do well, thanks. I like to hear that.

He's on that next tier after Shaw and Wright, I've advocated Hill should be a 4-star. Very quick feet and fluid, a pure cover guy but not a great tackler. Being a 3-year starter at corner he knows the position well and has real nice technique, not a guy who needs to redshirt. Physical upside is limited compared to the aforementioned two.
sounds similar to harris if you ask me. both could use some extra weight, but cover skills are legit. jhop indicated that coach neal wanted him badly. i have a lot of excitement about landing this kid rather than the "oh only 3 stars, i guess trust the coaches" reaction. he could end up as a starter for us in a couple years, and a good one.
My exacts thoughts on Hill. The coaches can teach a player how to tackle but when they come ready made with legit cover skills, that's special. Just like Cliff. Kid is legit. I'd take cover skills over tackling skills in a corner every day.
And if there's any position that you can completely trust the coaches with, it's corner. We've had probably the highlest level of production of any position on the team at corner. At the same time that position probably has had the least amount of recruiting stars. Coach Neal knows his stuff.
