He has speed I haven't seen at LB but can he be strong enough to seal the edge? With that speed, he should be a great cover LB if he has flexibility and quick hips.

Really interesting player. Reminds me of Bradyn Swinson and La'Mar Winston in that he's a very athletic edge defender who doesn't necessarily look like he's got natural football instincts when you watch the tape. He'll be a ball of clay and if he's anything like those other guys, it's a great pickup.

How would you rate Ken Wilson’s ability to coach up LB’s?

Woof. That's tough. We haven't seen much of a sample size for development, have we? MJ Cunningham, Ge'Mon Eaford, and Andrew Johnson all transferred out the program pretty quickly. It's hard to separate "bad scouting" from "bad coaching," and so I don't know which of those areas to place the blame on for those guys leaving the program.

Sewell is definitely better this year than last year, and with another year should be close to what you expect from a 5*. ISM seemed to improve, albeit in smaller increments. The injury bug has prevented us from seeing any other potential successes.

Trent Bray is probably the best LB coach in the conference. Him and Oregon State's offensive line coach could both take a bunch of guys from the local 24 Hour Fitness and field a competent position group. I don't know that Wilson is anywhere near that level.

*If I remember right, Johnson was a Leavitt kid.

Johnson was a Leavitt guy. Gym freak, but didn't translate on the field. MJ Cunningham was the same (I believe) and I am not sure about Eaford.
