Ok ok didn't want to mention it on the post, but since he's dealt here...

Definitely would have gone for Duck in Rocket's place. Keep Grant, get Duck, and both your rebounding (by playing Grant at SF) and defense (hello, Duckworth!?) problems are immediately solved. Probably top 3 contender in my eyes with him, and Kellogg doesn't move the needle that same way.

Ok, pertaining to the deal, cool for both. Duck's awesome, 1sts are coming back.

Accept

While not the deal I might have gotten last year, I was hoping for one last run.

Two finials appearances taking both teams to 7 games for this crew. So close but not close enough.

Average trade PM for Duck: Ill offer this marginal prospect and one first this year (insert playoff team here).
I counter offer with two 1sts two years in future.
either ghosted or same s*** offer is offered

I posted best a marginal offer being the best offer I got in two seasons. If you thought he was worth that where were you? The market is trash and are so skidish you even try to negotiate they ghost you. People have no appetite for negotiation.

In my (admittedly limited) experience and (obviously subjective) opinion, you don't come off as wanting to negotiate when you don't like an initial offer. Couple that with the public remarks about his perceived value over the last season or two and I'll admit I was definitely skiddish about engaging on Duckworth (though it seems I shouldn't have been).

It’s tough to pay MJ, KS, and Duck.

This is like my 5th-6th attempt I think at trying to get Duckworth - prices are always fluctuating based off team record and demand and Knicks were clear they were blowing it up this year after not performing well in the early stages of the season (is it Dantley??)

These Nets always trying to shift the spotlight away from themselves :P

I think it is where the market is currently at. The top teams look set (obviously outside of Grizzlies  ) and the mid tier teams I guess are content with being middle of the road.

I looked into Duckworth last season but ended up with Perkins as I felt he fit my team better.

Going through the teams, no one in the Atlantic would make sense (maybe 76ers but thats not what they are missing)

In the Central, the Bulls make sense but cap wise it would be a tight fit. Hornets would have been interesting but would need to make moves to get the salary.

In the Midwest, Mavericks/Spurs/Suns look set and Rockets/Jazz it would be tough to fit cap wise

Then in the Pacific, only the Clips and Grizz were in position to make a move

So 4 teams that would make sense for the Duckworth nuked his value which is unfortunate for a player of his ability. Once we get past preseason, big trades are tough to make as teams are mostly set and capped out
