QUACK! 2023 OL Bryce Boulton commits

Oregon has finally gotten an OL commit in the form of 2023 OL Bryce Boulton. Oregon has been his dream school and has been a silent commit since late July.

"There were a few other lineman that were supposed to commit as well and the idea was for us to announce at the same time.

"The other players ended up going to other colleges but I'm definitely excited about my decision. It feels great to get it out there and let everyone. It wasn't that stressful since me and my family had already made the decision but it does feel good to get out and we can celebrate it now."

Would be interesting to know who were the other guys the coaches were banking on.

Really neat how shocked and excited he was with the offer. Thankfully the days of classes made up of mostly of 3* kids are behind us but it’s cool that there’s still a few like him in every class.

His success is going to be dependent on how he physically develops. I rarely get as hung up on height/weight as other guys, but that's my hesitancy with Boulton. I love his athleticism, his technique for his age (superb feet and hands), how heady he is in getting multiple blocks on a play. He's a better lineman than most kids Oregon signs at this age. His constraint is he's about the size Ryan Walk was at the same age, and probably will never get to 300 pounds. I could see him being a solid rotation player for a few years once he gets north of 280, but will hold my breath for the first time he sees elite defensive linemen. That said, Walk does arguably better than fine, so we'll see. Also isn't a likely candidate to leave school early, so you get continuity.

My guesses are some combination of Proctor, Alinen, McVay, Banuelos, and Noa.
