I just think that these Florida recruits will be in for a surprise next season when Urban officially steps down.

disagree

making a statement that is not true is a lie. Pretty simple. Just like Eathan Grant lied twice. Both times he committed to Ducks staff and said it was a done deal.

But did Easley ever actually say he was coming? If so I haven't seen it except on message boards

So is everyone gonna hate him and turn him down if he actually SIGNS with Oregon? I kinda felt this coming to be honest. It always seems like when something goes wrong, something else is gonna follow. Kinda like how celebrities die in threes.

Easley has wanted to go to Florida all along but hadn't been made an offer. I really feel like he was UO's and was going to choose UO today but was made an offer by Florida sometime in the last 24-48 hours. He made a lot of noise in the practices this week and it may have ended up costing us Easley. Better to know we're not getting him now than find out on signing day.

if he signs with us all will be forgiven of course...cause the lies that he may have told would be not lies but I definitely agree...his big time practices this week very well may have cost us him.

What lies? I followed the thread on him earlier and no one really quoted saying "It's all about Oregon" after he dropped his commit to Penn State. Did he say he was coming here? All I remember was quotes from him saying that he loved Oregon and the triip made him think of things earlier. The media posted between Penn State and Oregon, not from him...so where is the lie? Could someone point that out?

I think people in NY still consider Florida an east coast state. I have friends there and they would still say Florida is on the east coast. Yes it may be in the south but is still an east coast state. I do not see him changing his mind. We still have a lot of work to do and we can just add Easley to the list of recruits that have stuck it to the ducks. Stand in the same line as Pryor... Boyd... and now Easley. The Army all star game am sure will add a few more. I am not saying the sky is falling but when say things can take it to the bank. The lie was clearly that he wanted to get off the East Coast.

I fully expect Owa to go to USC. I have all along so that will not be a surprise. Gabe King hmm.. not sure on him I have no real gut instinct on where he is going. It would be nice to get them both but i highly highly doubt get both or even at this point.. one of them. As far as Lache goes. soo he was wearing duck gear.. we will wait and see if that means anything. Or will he be standing in the same line as Pryor.. Boyd.. Easley. We shall see.

Wow, some of the responses to this unfortunate turn of events in this thread are comical. Let's all take a deep breath. This sucks, but the kid got what he wanted and would have just decommitted if he put on the Duck hat today prematurely.

Here's what went down:

1. he tripped UF early on and verballed.
2. they let him know they were going in another direction
3. he then trips PSU and commits
4. he had promised Azz he would visit Oregon & he did
5. he had a great trip here which caused him to re think his PSU verbal
6. he did commit to our coaches, but wanted to keep it silent to make sure it was what he wanted to do and to also announce at the UA game
7. he has dominating UA practices and obviously start to re think some things
8. Florida folks obviously caught a glimpse of what he was doing
9. UA officials contacted Steve Summers of eDuck to let him know that they fully expected DE to commit to Oregon today
10. According to eDuck, it was learned that DE contacted UF coaches early this morning and committed to them. It is the dead period so he had to initiate the contact

In the end the kid got what he wanted. UF was his original school of choice. Ultimately his playing in the UA game, and excelling, is what caused the switch. With one month left before signing he would have likely de-committed to us as UF would have come calling after dead period ended. It's bummer for us, but better now than later.
