Lache in Oregon gear.

Also Terrence Mitchell posted on facebook something like: Ducks will be back next year. And Dior Mathis responded yes sir. If Dior doesn't pick Oregon, then literally the sky is falling. No way he shouldn't pick Oregon.

I like seeing Lache Seastrunk in that Oregon uni...c'mon Lache, pull the trigger man! Become a Duck!

My hopes are up as well. We are at the corner. We havent turned it yet, but all signs indicate that we will. Soon. In my view the next step isnt so much signing some blue chip recruit. We have done that before and we will do it again. The next step is what happen on the field next year, specifically getting back to a BCS bowl game. When you look at who we have coming back next year--especially with the addition of Gaines and Jackson at WR, we should all be optimistic. We all know that DT is a position of need and losing Easely stings, but was he going to win games for us next year?

To be honest, I would rather lose Easley the way that it happened than have him pick us only to drop us later when Florida came calling.

Good point Thrillho. I completely agree. The key to increasing our national prominence through recruiting comes down to the on-field success next year. We have a ton of blue-chippers that are looking at us now, and thinking about Oregon. We just need to show that we can have sustained high level achievement. We went from the Holiday Bowl to the Rose Bowl and are getting a ton of attention. Now if we can back this year up with another BCS that will push a number of the recruits over the top and hopefully they will start pulling the trigger for Oregon. We need to finish above USC again to show that the Ducks are for real.

Another big key is having midwest and east coast recruits having success here. It's so freakin' hard to get recruits here (although in my opinion, I wouldn't live anywhere else in the US!) but now that LMJ, a Texas kid, and once Darron Thomas, the North Carolina group, and other young recruits from other parts of the country have success at Oregon, I think other coaches are more likely to highly recommend us.

Winning and success cure all. Now if only we can keep up the momentum.

I find it interesting that when I visit other parts of the US, locals say the same thing: that they wouldn't live anywhere else.

Even met a lady once from Fresno and loved it so much she thought it was shangrala.

Lets also not forget that we have players in the Nfl in both Carolina and Texas who do well. I think that people can overlook just how important that can be, even if they are just reserves or if they're all stars.

Good point. I'm sure the Carolina group has heard all about Jstew. ;)

Not just JStew, but Rosario and Schwartz along with a couple ex beavs. The state of Oregon is well represented with the Panthers.

Would Anderception be an upgrade for the Panthers?

I have no doubt Clemens would.

you are forgetting that the QB that started the last 4 games was Matt Moore!

(and people down here are talking like Moore may be the answer next year

Not only did Moore do well, but remember who is back up was...AJ Feeley :)

Watching Moore play, I have to admit he looked really good. He was not rattled, and made some really good plays when he needed to.

wlduck wrote: While I am sure some will blast me for this, I don't think that Mathis or even Seastrunk is as important as landing some of the DT's or big DE's still on the board. We are pretty well stocked at the DB positions- and Mathis is a small bodied DB which we have plenty of- and running backs seem to be one of our easier positions to fill with studs. Until we get big time D linman, we are hurting.
I agree that D-line is huge right now, but we have to take who we can get and Mathis would be huge right now. Another far from home commit who has a high rating and could play after his redshirt year, if not before. I think we can all agree that Cliff Harris and Boyett are huge additions to the team this and had a lot to do with the Rose Bowl run.

Thinking back, Boyett's 2 game sealing INTs and Harris' pick on Locker was a huge game-changer, not to mention his stellar pass break-up on James Rodgers in the CW and kick return skills in the RB. I'd love to have Mathis competing with Anthony Gildon next year and the other back-ups if for nothing else but to push them to get better.

Every recruit is important and depth is needed always, this year really proved that for us. That said, I'd love to have a great D-lineman or two in addition to the guys we got AND Mathis and maybe Seastrunk!

if it's a good thing that Oregon gets Lattimore's last visit, then it's not a good thing that USC is getting Seastrunk's last one in a couple weekends
