Anthony Jefferson down to 3
http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/in ... Recruiting
Says that Jefferson is down to Oregon, UCLA, and Cal. Mentions that Oregon stands out right now but he is open-minded heading in to his last visit, which is UCLA on January 15. Let's hope the Weasel isn't too convincing

That's some good news, that would be a very nice surprise in this last month before signing day!

Would love to add Jefferson. You can never have too many big, versatile athletes.

If we land Jefferson, do we still take Dargan?
Both are athletes are pretty versatile, so I think it's worth taking both. But it sounds like both are being recruited on the defensive side of the ball.

Jefferson was supposedly a stud at corner in high school, though he played multiple positions. At his size, that would be a pretty dyanmic CB, even though I know we've already taken a few in this class. Jefferson shut down Robert Woods both of the past two seasons when their teams met, and Robert Woods is considered one of the elite WRs in the nation. I would certainly take both Jefferson and Dargan if there is room

yea we'd take both and figure out what positions they'll play later a la Barner and Maehl.

Hate to make judgments off of 5 minutes of highlights but I was thoroughly UNimpressed by his highlight video. Looked to have really poor form on tackling and seemed slow to me.

Re: Anthony Jefferson down to 3
I have a hard time thinking the coaches would pass on Dargan or Jefferson if both wanted to commit but one did so before the other. The coaches could tell Jefferson he would be tried at WR and then moved to DB later on just to make sure he has options if he comes here. Dargan looks and sounds like the type of safety that could be a big-time player with a year in the system. If both commit, the coaches could also have 1-2 of the other DB recruits grayshirt to break the DB class up.

He looked really fast at RB IMO. Looked kinda stiff at CB, though. Try him at WR or S.lukeyrid13 wrote:Hate to make judgments off of 5 minutes of highlights but I was thoroughly UNimpressed by his highlight video. Looked to have really poor form on tackling and seemed slow to me.
