QUACK! 2024 WR Jack Ressler commits

Oregon has gotten another commitment, this time from 3* WR Jack Ressler from Mater Dei HS. His announcement on 247 Sports showed him heavily in Duck gear from his days with the Inland Empire Ducks youth football program so it was pretty telling where he'd be going.

Watched only a portion of his Junior highlights, but I see what you mean. Looks like he has nice hands, but he gets virtually no separation unless the defense lets him run free, and he gets caught from behind a few times, so speed is weak.

In normal circumstances, I would say he's not an Oregon caliber player. As others note, if this is to secure more talented players, I get it.

I think you recruit him purely off a production stand point. He’s one of those guys who gets it done even if the highlight reels doesn’t give you the why or how.

Those are a lot of "offers" for someone whose final 5 included Boise State and Oregon State.

Can you clarify what you mean?

I think he is saying his upside is Mycah Pittman type player and his low side is a guy you give a scholly to maybe entice other higher rated guys from his school to commit.

Those are a lot of "offers" for someone whose final 5 included Boise State and Oregon State.

I mean sure, but he visited Penn State and they offered him during that visit. And he was also offered by Wisconsin that week, and he also visited Georgia.

So I guess these are exceptional circumstances where some big name schools are just throwing out offers to a slow, less than qualified WR. Also Oregon already has a good pipeline to Mater Dei these days, I don't feel like they need to waste a scholarship on an unqualified athlete just to get their foot in the door. Unless Ressler has a young brother who will be a 5 star recruit.

Ressler seems like a he's got that competitive fire and really good hands...the kind of player you need to make a catch and can scheme into being open when it's 3rd down
