These were players before UO was running CK's offense, which requires a whole lot of blocking by the WRs (a reason JWill was so valuable to the offense - even when he wasn't catching balls he was clearing huge pathways on the outside). Not to say they wouldn't contribute now, but I imagine it's part of the reason we haven't seen any small WRs like that involved in the offense the last three seasons.

This post is entirely correct. Hence the recruitment of Brandon Williams, Curtis White, and Christian Thomas. I see a lot of two TE sets because of blocking.
Thomas is likely Miami bound FWIW.

On the scout prediction thread, all 7 of the 'experts' predicted he'd be Miami bound. And Curtis White informed us that Thomas seems like he'll go to Miami. Not sure when it happened, but Miami has been one of his top teams for a whil.

Honestly though, our depth chart probably isn't very favorable for him, so Miami might be the better choice. We already have Paulson, Jordan, and now White + Williams.

^Okay thanks TK.

And I agree it would have been a bonus landing him, but as you mentioned, our DC is good at TE.

After he dropped that wide open pass in the Army Game I don't think I will miss him much. Maybe it was just nerves. Big time players step up in big time games though.

He had a really nice tip toe grab along the sideline later in the game. I wouldn't read too much into one play... unless it makes you feel better about us missing out on him ha.

 Don't worry I'm guilty of it every time we miss out on a recruit. When Ethan Grant first decommitted I came up with all the reason why we didn't need him, then when he reaffirmed his committment I found myself imagining how great he was gonna be in our offense... then when he committed to TCU, I was doing it all over again, "We don't really need him. We have LaJames, etc, etc."

I thought Thomas would be all ours after this USC debacle. With the praise that he had after his visit and supposedly being down to Oregon and SC, it sucks to see him head to Miami. As others have said though, not a huge loss since it isn't a huge position of need ATM.

Educk did a follow up after we broke the news on Lowe: Sounds like Lowe might not be a duck until we figure out if we have availability.

I like it if we after bigger fish and/or he is waiting on our decision...that would be very cool!

I wish we had made room for James Johnson he looked great as a FR.
