2024 TE Jackson Ford decommits
Long-time 2024 TE commit Jackson Ford has decommitted. His spot will likely be filled quickly as 4* TE Roger Saleapaga has been getting some Crystal Ball predictions to Oregon recently.

Is he about to commit somewhere else or did he get processed?

Potentially he got processed but it sounds like he's getting more looks from other schools closer to home.pdxduck2013 wrote:Is he about to commit somewhere else or did he get processed?

Almost certainly processed.
He's not the most athletically gifted, but he's massive (6'5-6'6, 245 and pretty shredded). Very much a Hunter Kampmoyer type, so I'm sure he'll wind up at some midwest school as a blocking tight end.

What exactly does it mean when a recruit is processed?
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Different staffs have totally different strategies to go about this. I've heard of some staffs just ghosting kids. Others will have frank conversations that they found better players. From what I can tell, this staff tells some of its lower-recruited players that their offer is contingent on a handful of things ("We want to continue to see you grow this next season") so they can cite that when they tell a player they're moving on.
Who thing stinks. Like breaking up. But it's part of the whole process for ultra-competitive programs.

I believe that Lanning said in an interview that offers were contingent, especially for younger players. The staff makes an offer to some kids based on the staff’s projection of how they expect the recruit to grow/develop.
Not saying that this is the case, in this situation, but seems to confirm the idea that this staff uses conditional offers. I just hope the staff is upfront and honest with these kids (unlike some other programs).

I have heard they are very upfront and honest just like they are with recommending some guys hit the portal.OregonDucks wrote:I believe that Lanning said in an interview that offers were contingent, especially for younger players.
