Probably best thing they could do right now. Don't sleep on Bray.greenyellow wrote:Trent Bray will be OSU's new coach.
On a side note, Kerry Eggers' kids played baseball against me. And he coached the Pirates who were one of our foes in little league. Man, he got tossed out of so many games I seriously lost count. He even got suspended for multiple games, and during one of those the umpire had to pause the game and tell Kerry he couldn't watch the game from the parking lot and asked him to leave.
I will never forget that man or his angry voice. Hope he's doing well.

The new format is known as 6+6.nogerO wrote:So add a good OSU 8-4 and a mediocre WSU 5-7 and just exactly where do you see a Power 5 Conference? Who would you add too this list? I didn't see the sarcasm emoji so apologies in advance if you weren't reallybeing serious?
6 highest ranked Conf Champions + the next 6 highest ranked teams. With only 4 "Power" Confs, that means the "Group of 5" Conferences now are fighting for 2 spots as an auto-qualifier and not 1. Tulane (American) is currently ranked #22. Liberty at #24 (CUSA) is the team that now benefits from the demise of the Pac.
So, from a very real and practical standpoint, yes, a merged Pac-Mtn West would in fact typically produce a ranked champion every year that would be given an automatic spot (on the road) in the Playoff.
The problem for OSU is they have inept leadership, otherwise the path to relevancy has always remained and in some ways is boosted by the new changes because they're more likely to win a Pac-Mtn West than they would have an old Pac 12 or expanded Pac 14/16.

I assume the 5 coaches that stayed at OSU will likely be retained on Bray's staff? So they basically need a secondary coach and an offensive coaching staff (except for the WR coach).greenyellow wrote:Bray is officially OSU's new HC.

That's my guess as well. Funny thing is it sounds like Bray won't be coaching in their bowl game since in the introductory video, he said he'd be around the facility and practice but that the team would be in good hands with the interim staff. Only explanation would be he has to get started assembling his new staff and recruiting.

So Bray is "a MAN"?
How old is he, 40? Even wears the same colors, now...
(Heck, I was a year off!)

Former Oregon coaches, man. Not a great track record.
Regarding Fresno, Ryan Grubb has to be the leader, right?

I've almost come to think that the poodles won't lose either and that they'll pony up the money for Grubb and DeBoer. Does Grubb wait for a Power 4 job in the midwest instead similar to say Tosh waiting for a bigger job and not just the 1st job?StevensTechU wrote:Former Oregon coaches, man. Not a great track record.
