Our top ranked skill position player is our 14th best recruit, and he may not even be committed to us next week. (Gresham)

In some ways that's encouraging to see us focusing on defense and in the trenches, but also wild we may not have a single 4 or 5 star skill position commitment going into early signing day.

On the other hand, the past several years of recruiting classes are littered with 4-star skill position players who didn't pan out. Maybe the portal is a better way to go for Oregon.

Made a comment about this a few weeks ago and saving some NIL money for the offensive side of the ball.
We should be able to attract the top offensive talent to play in a top 5 offense that puts up points and individual stats that in turn becomes individual accolades ie All-Americans, Heisman finalists.

We also have a good and experience QB coming in. So I would be too worried about that side of the field.

The only real surprise is WR because Adams is known as a great recruiter. We don't have any portal adds and just 1 VHT WR who is a lower 4*.

RB:-Riggs is underrated at RB and the DII kid we are bringing looks like a stud. We missed on Frazier and there wasn't much else this year on the west coast. I'm confident in Coach Lock.
QB: -We added Moore back(5*)
TE: Roger Saleapaga should be a stud.

It is a different class for sure, because it seems like over the years, we've had the most highly rated guys at skill positions and this is such a defense heavy class.

Stealing a WR from OSU feels pretty big time when you consider what Brian Hartline has done in that WR room the last 5 years.

Our Roster for Offense just doesn't have a lot of room for new and young faces next year.

At WR we've got Tez in the slot along with Holden, Bryant and Kyler Kasper who was that 1 guy just behind the main rotation players. Add in 5* Dickey and if one of the other young WRs steps up, we've got a full rotation with young guys pushing the vets.

At TE we still have Ferguson and Herbert as the 1-2 with Sadiq and Kelly behind them.

RB could be 4 deep again if Whittington returns to go with James, Jay Harris and Jayden Limar but even with 3 its a solid group.

QB goes Gabriel and Moore at 1-2 with Novosad and Moga fighting for QB3.

Backup Center and Backup Tackle is about my only concern on Offense right now as we look ahead.

2025 is going to see the most roster churn on Offense but we could also be quietly in a great spot if/when those young players make the next step.

I didn't follow the Mclellan signing at all: did Oregon actually steal one, or was he pushed out because they got Jeremiah Smith?

I don't think he got pushed out, but I'm sure he saw the WR depth at OSU and made the wise decision to come to Oregon where there is little experience at WR right now.

More like he saw the QB depth chart at OSU vs UO. Kid is a stud, he for sure didn’t get pushed out or get scared away.

We were 6 points away from the CFP. OFFENSE SELLS TICKETS BUT DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. If you think about it, we've always been just that close to winning the big prize but our defense has always come up short. Now we have the coaching staff that understands that. You can see it with our recruiting the last 2 years. Yes Iowa had a really good defense, but they haven't had any offense for years. We have had a great offense for many years with no end in sight. So yes, D does win championships.

Since I am still bitter about it to this day I can say with confidence, we were one Carrington away from winning that game.
