what a mess

Post by ChipKellyKapowski »

Whoever posted saying "per talefeathers" is clearly not a subscriber...

because if they read the actual posts they would see that the talefeathers thread is actually just referencing the other thread here in the war room

lol

1. Curtis said that King was probably headed to Cal
2. That information makes its way to talefeathers
3. People reading each site start posting saying that King has reportedly committed to Cal, per the other one

talk about a fun game of telephone

come on folks

That's good to hear. Although, if Curtis White thinks that King is headed to Cal, it can't be a good thing.

You guys are funny. Talefeathers read a post from c4q about Curtis saying Gabe loves Cal.

Nothing more. I wouldn't quite yet give up on Gabe. But things are honestly looking a bit dimmer.

I called Mathis as a Duck, and that worked out.

I'm calling Gabe King as a Duck too. Just a hunch (Best friend will play at Oregon, and he lives in South Eugene). If he wanted to play for Cal, he could have moved to some Berkley area HS. Writing is on the wall. Foolish to even second guess if u ask me.

The cost of living is 63% higher in Berkeley than Eugene. That has a profound effect on where people live.

I doubt he had a personal contact in Berkeley like he did with Dino Philyaw in Eugene. Most of the transfer details were worked out before King even arrived, that wouldn't have happened in Berkeley.

He is now experiencing the long wet gray winters of the Willamette Valley and has an easy way to escape them.

I agree with others Gabe King will be a duck!! calling my shot.. he has ties with some players not only in Eugene but also NC area..and the guy will play right away this year!!! what more as a recruit could you ask for?? sunshine vs rain at times blah!!! or asian women not!!! remember a high recruit wants to come to a team that will be a favorite to win the pac 10 next year! and is up and coming! we return 17 starters next year... this defense when watching them this year is starting to play with some swagger!!! (Cliff harris, boyett, matthews) we just need some swagger on the defensive line! :D

The weather factor cannot be underestimated... most of us on this board are used to the NW weather and can claim "its not that bad", and for us it probably isn't. For those that arent used to it the weather can be BRUTAL, even if its only rain.

Nice sunny/warm weather is hard to deny... I was at the Rose Bowl, tailgating at 9am in the morning, 70-75 degrees, perfect tee shirt weather, sunny and warm on JAN 1ST. 72 and sunny sure beats 40 and raining....

Mis dose centavos...

Forget LA, How does the weather in Berkley compare to Eugene? The Bay area is not a lot better. Think back to the swamp @ Cal in 2008.

I went to school at Oregon, lived in southern california for a few years and now live in the bay area. Im not sure people realize that all 3 climates are pretty different. That 75 degree morning that we all experienced in LA DOES NOT happen in the bay area, especially this time of year. So ya if Gabe wants less rain and a warmer climate Cal would give an improvement but he should really go to USC or UCLA if weather is that important to him. I think the DL coach for Cal is really what gives cal the best advantage along with the academics there. However its only Jan 11 so he could easily switch back and forth a few more times between the two schools between now and signing day. We've seen this too many times before to count him out or to consider him a lock.

Yeah I've lived in SoCal and Florida for many years... Oregon is not THAT bad, especially when you compare it to the miserably cold midwest and east coast. I dunno about Gabe, I have a feeling he's gonna go to Cal, if he was gonna be a Duck he would have decided by now... think about it, if you wanted to go to Cal, but lived in Eugene, would you be telling everyone how great Cal is? No wayyy, he's minimizing the blowback by saying it's "between Cal and Oregon" and keeping Duck fans happy while he lives here. I think he knows where he's going. He's just being smart, if he announced for Cal back in November he'd be getting A LOT of grief in Eugene.
