NCAA denies Dante’s request for another year of eligibility

Post by OregonFan4Life »

What a huge bummer, just another reason why the NCAA needs to go away forever. Still think next season has a lot of potential but no doubt it lost a lot with this unfortunate news from the corrupt NCAA.

So lame, but sounds like they will appeal it.

Oregon will be a different beast going into the Big Ten with no Dante.

Really disappointing but I don't think Oregon and many fans were expecting the NCAA to allow it. Him not returning does lower the ceiling of this team as they don't have much post depth beyond Bittle, Evans, and Angel. The portal is now sort of picked through with regards to big men so the best they'll do is get someone like Diawara for like 5-10 minutes a game.

Such a stupid decision by the NCAA. Having so many stars leave on one and dones, G league, and transfers has made NCAA a shadow of its former self from a fan's standpoint. A kid like Dante would have been one of the faces of NCAA basketball next season.

Samford (and former Utah/Utah State) G Rylan Jones just got a 6th year even though he's played in more games every season than Dante.

Another case where a guy missed the COVID year and is now getting a 7th year of eligibility.

lawsuits are too regularly done, but this is wild. A lawsuit if appeal doesn’t work is 100% justified.
