Flip from Washington looks very likely at this point. Still disappointing to miss out on so many elite TEs, but Ploog is very talented.

Kenyon Sadiq will be an NFL talent after next year. Just need a couple of really good ones next year.UOducksTK1 wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 9:44 am https://247sports.com/player/vander-ploog-46144071/

Re: Vander Ploog trending to UO
He's a good player. Not amazing but best prospect since Sadiq.
I don't know if his hands are as good, but I'd compare to Jacob Breland (big bodied but essentially a WR).
Edit: Just watched Andrew Olesh's highlights, the Michigan commit, and I would definitely take him first. Also, he's only 6'3, but I think Illini commit Logan Farrell would be a rock solid get in case we're looking for a second TE or need to go further down the board.

Sounds like Olesh will be making another trip out to Eugene this season. If Oregon could get both Ploog and him, they'd have a decent TE haul.

That's good to hear. I think Olesh is a day 1 contributor type. Ploog will have more of an adjustment to get used to the physicality of the college level from what I see on tape. Considering there isn't much coming back next year other than Sadiq, I think Olesh jumps Pugliano before the season starts and him and Saleapaga would battle for spot #2.greenyellow wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:47 am Sounds like Olesh will be making another trip out to Eugene this season. A lot of projection from me, I know. I just see that our tight end recruiting dropped off significantly after the class with Ferguson and Matavao.
