And thanks for the updates.

If they're not related why would he be the biggest reason? Was he helping to recruit King? If so that might have been what I was told, I was drinking at the time, so I can't be heald fully responsible for what information I retained...I know I remembered the important part
I believe Dino Philyaw is related to (or good friends with) one of King's South Carolina coaches.

Okay, I had to go back and look---"One of the first people they met upon arriving for the Oregon leg of their tour was former Ducks star Dino Philyaw, a cousin to the players' mentor/tour leader Otis Yelverton."

Good article http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindducksb ... p_div.html

Not sure if I said this before but I think I remember hearing that the info came from both of the recruit's (Hill and King) Fathers....maybe just Hill's though....and I might be speculating here, but it seemed to me that it was one of those situations where the kid knew where they wanted to go, but the parents wanted him to wait to announce just in case something like what happened down at USC happened....To me it seems logical If (and when :D ) my sons decides he wants to go to Oregon to play football, I will have no problem letting them silent verbal to the school, but they will not be announcing anything publicly until signing day, just in case...

Word I am receiving is that King should still be a Duck but we shouldn't expect to hear anything substantial until Signing Day...

I have no sources or anything but thats how I've always felt about it. Come signing day he will be a Duck. You have to factor in King's personality, he seems to be pretty playfull. He'll get people believing one thing only to do the exact opposite. I almost feel better about it now that we're not the percieved favorite.

I don't know what their relationship is. I'm not saying they're not related, just saying that part I didn't know. I'm just confirming the gist of what you're saying.

After some more e-mails with a friend, I may have spoken too soon, I thought that was what he was saying, but I have asked for clarification, he told me not to worry and that in the end "King would be a duck, but we just had to wait" I took that to mean that he wasn't saying anything until signing day, I may have assumed to much, I'll double check.

The problem with this recruiting stuff is things change day to day and sometimes hour to hour. Who the hell really knows, even some of the recruits don't what their going to do untill the last minute.
