Wouldn't this give us 5 QBs on the roster for next year?

These guys are already here.

Dante Moore - (He's only planning to play one season and then enter the NFL Draft, but he could be here for at least 2)
Austin Nososad - (I could see him leaving if Moore stays a second year and he wants to play sooner)
Luke Moga - I could see him leaving if Moore stays a second year and he wants to play sooner, but it could also depend on what Novosad does)
Akili Smith Jr - (I hope I'm wrong, but I get the feeling that this kid is overrated and is here mostly because of his Dad)

I could see at least 1-2 transferring. I can't imagine all staying at Oregon with proven players becoming available in the portal in 2026.

Moga would likely transfer out and that's quite alright for me to see him go ball at a G5. As a dual threat in that level he'd make a name for himself. Not sure the arm talent is what we want.

Novosad is the real wild card for me as in does this guy straight up take the job over the next four months in practice or is Moore truly the established #2?

In the NIL age, apprenticeship years at a top program could get them the best transfer packages while we keep young quality backups and take the best ones that develop.

As for Akili Jr, methinks he just needs some seasoning and 25 pounds and let's see how he takes to competing for the jov. Jaron needs some seasoning and about 10-15 and the same kind of competition. I also think you only get these guys if you don't bring in a QB in the portal, and with our expectations for a deep playoff run, were likely going to be focused on the spring portal. We'll see after this weekend, I'm sure we'll start to hear about which of our young players intend to portal out.

My guess is in the next few days during the early signing period.

Cal is making a change at OC so an interesting development for JKS' recruitment.

Huffman had a post that sounded like JKS was leaning towards sticking with Cal. But hopefully this is new news for him.
