Restructured Coaching Contracts

Post by StevensTechU »

With paying players a reality, the most asked questions has been about where the money was going to come from. The most obvious answers to me were and are facilities and coaching salaries. On the latter, we are already seeing it beginning to happen.

Mike Norvell, FSU - reportedly "donating" $4.5 million to the school's NIL funding.

Mike Gundy, Okie State - same deal, slightly different language.

This is a 'best case' to me. For example, Mario Cristobal making more than NFL head coaches doesn't make a lick of sense. Stuff like that only occurrs because of the legality of paying players, so this is great in my opinion. We'll likely also see the Oregons, A&Ms, and Alabamas channeling their dollars to players instead of Taj Mahal-like complexes, as well.
