Altman was pretty livid after today's game. It was easily winnable but they just kept not doing the little things that good teams should do consistently without much hard coaching.

Purdue started the season slow, made some lineup changes, and has been killing opponents lately. This loss won't look so bad at the end of the year.

Our defense played a nearly ideal game.

As everyone’s mentioned, way too many bad turnovers. And we just miss shots. Bamba is so open but misses every 3. Barthelemy was no existent on offense.

Really sad cuz this was definitely one we should have won.

Lack of home court is pathetic too. 3 lossss at home already. Sigh…

I know Barthelemy had an off game today but he does present a legit three point shooting threat. Right now Bamba and Tracey are complete liabilities on offense, poor shooting, poor court vision, sloppy, and an occasional decent drive to the hoop where they only make it about 50% of the time. I think the starting lineup should be:
1) Shelstad
2) Barthelemy
3) Evans/Angel
4) Evans/Angel
5) Bittle

Bamba is just awful. 35% FG and 28% from 3 this year.

Our offense was straight hero ball. Embarrassing to watch. Awful ball movement, forced shots, bad decision making by our main playmakers. One of the worst offensive games I've seen in a long time.

If we played against a talented team, we lose this game by 30+ points. Purdue is as fundamentally sound of a team out there, but they seriously lack offensive firepower. A team with more offensive talented would've blown this game wide open in the first half.

Unlike others in this thread, I actually thought that our defense was mediocre, and not good.

Two other observations:
-coaches continue to put the ball in Bamba's hands out on the perimeter in order to generate offense. This should NEVER ever happen, but we continue to do it. Huge coaching issue. Bamba's strength is in the post. That's the only place we should be feeding him the ball. He can bully almost any other guard in all of college basketball, but we probably only fed it to him 2-3 times down there, while he probably had 5 times where he was in a P n R on the perimeter. Unbelievable really.
-Shelstead is experiencing growing pains in the same way that Pritchard did when he became our main option. While I love Shelstead's ability to get buckets, he is missing opportunities to feed other guys during the game. His hyper-focus on scoring was a detriment to the team today. Needs to find the right balance on this team.
