Defense was atrocious in the second half but luckily Shelstad and Barthelemy hot shooting along with a little help from the refs allowed Oregon to hold onto the halftime lead for a win that shouldn’t have been so close.

They are going to squeak by a completely shitty team at home. WTF?

This Oregon team is just incapable of decisively closing out teams, especially if they've got the lead. If anything, they lack the killer instinct and consistency to bury teams even when they've got the decidedly better players. It really shows up with the defensive effort as they relax way too often and stop executing the gameplan. They kind of got away with it since Shelstad, Bittle, and Barthelemy were hitting shots at big moments in the 2nd half.

Honestly we should have won by double digits if we could play even 10% better defense in the 2nd half.

I will say though, out of Northwestern’s 13 losses, they’ve only lost by more than 10 points once (against Purdue).

They are a pretty solid team. I don’t think they are much worse than us (especially when healthy).

Angel is gonna get destroyed by Bailey ha. Angel’s defense is terrible when he’s overmatched.
