Ducks lead, LSU #2. Oregon gets last visit. Was planning an August commitment, but sounds like he may decide in June now.

Even if Oregon loses Cantwell to Miami, Iheanacho would be a great potential backup option.

Wilfong just dropped a prediction that the ducks will land Iheanacho.

Still got a couple months until a decision, but Ducks looking good. And having the latest visit before he decides is a big bonus.

I've been unfazed by the recent recruiting "slump" per se, but I will say that after losing Greene and not securing Cantwell that Iheanacho is as close to a must get as there is this cycle.

Sounds like he had a really good trip to Penn State and said he plans on returning for their white out game against Oregon, this could be a real battle for him.

Looks like Immanuel is considering moving up his commitment date and he doesn’t have any other visits scheduled. Plus Oregon just offered his little brother, 2028 unranked OT. Looking good for Oregon.

Land the plane, coaches. Iheanacho will diffuse any early concerns fans had with this class.

I wish. Offensive line isn't one of the positions you can hit every few and make it work.UOducksTK1 wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 7:50 pm Land the plane, coaches. Iheanacho will diffuse any early concerns fans had with this class.

There are still other options, sure they may not be Cantwell and Greene but not like other programs are landing multiple 5 stars OT. I do agree it’s been a concern but if ducks land Obit and Tanner in addition to Iheanacho that’ll be a solid OL class.StevensTechU wrote:I wish. Tanner is another LDS guy so he's not showing up until 2027 or 2028.

Offer sheets and star ratings are kind of like stock prices, where they have capacity to dramatically change overnight (see: Bryson Beaver). Depending on the position, I watch tape, I review stats on MaxPreps (specifically, how players perform in playoff games in their state and against the top teams on their schedule), and I look at track times on athletic.net when it's available.OregonFan4Life wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 8:41 amThere are still other options, sure they may not be Cantwell and Greene but not like other programs are landing multiple 5 stars OT. There's a misconception that 2*-low 4* guys are projects or have poor measurables, when it's often the case that they just haven't been given much attention in a landscape where a lot of focus goes into ~250-500 players every year. The high school tape of guys like Emmanuel Pregnon's, Jake Hanson, Shane Lemieux, etc., all of whom were 6'4-6'6 in high school and 265-305, told the story that they had a really good shot to be very good college players. The universe of good offensive line targets is not just high 4* and 5* players.

So I guess are you saying the concern is that Oregon isn’t going after enough targets or aren’t identifying those diamonds in the rough with good measurables? I’m not arguing with you but I do feel that while Iheanacho is #1 priority there are other options. But is it simply not enough to fix the glaring OL issues we see for this year and going forward? Legit curious your thoughts, I’m fully aware your football knowledge far exceeds mine.StevensTechU wrote:Offer sheets and star ratings are kind of like stock prices, where they have capacity to dramatically change overnight (see: Bryson Beaver). Re: 5 star OT Immanuel Iheanacho has Ducks leading
My concern with OL is that they're over-allocating their time and energy into recruiting 5* talent and under-allocating time into looking for undervalued 2-4* talent. Those kids are fantastic, but you have to be smart about the resources you're putting into them. Chris Peterson had a mantra of "we're going to recruit 3* like they're 5*." They found talent that was on par with 5* but weren't getting a lot of attention, recruited the hell out of them, then when other teams came knocking late in the process it was too late. At some positions, it feels like Oregon is doing the opposite, and is going after Cantwell and Jared Curtis and then scrambles to fill spots with true projects (Trent Ferguson, Bryce Boulton) late. I like that they're recruiting Jax Tanner hard, it shows that they're making sure that even if they don't hit a home run they at least hit a double.

Still sounds like Oregon has a good shot at flipping both Tommy Tofi and Koloi Keli. Cal may have a hard time holding onto both of them, especially if they have a rough year and Wilcox potentially gets fired.
