That's a terrible program. Putrid. But they have a very healthy TV revenue share and a patch that says SEC and that allows them to accumulate talent at a level comparable to the best of the Big 12 and ACC. While NIL, transfer portal, and conference realignment has made things almost impossible for WSU, OSU, and many others, it could not have been kinder to schools like Mississippi State, Missouri, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Kentucky. Swap MSU and ASU and ASU becomes a potential national power.
I'm surprised you mention so many SEC teams. If anything, I feel like NIL shifts the pendulum to the Big 10 instead of the SEC. The SEC outside of Texas/Texas A&M and possibly Florida just doesn't feel like they have as strong of donor bases vs Big 10 teams.

This forum also knows ball. The games of interest you guys called up there were all close or upsets.
My post was mostly about conference realignment rather than NIL. Texas A&M is the biggest winner, where they are historically an average team and now perennially top 25. Missouri is a poor man's version of that but similar. Kentucky and S Carolina are historically garbage but SEC branding helped lift them up. Vanderbilt has no fan base but has the operational cash and cache as an SEC school has helped to get good coaches and to get transfers to come their way. The SEC has historically been 1-3 very good teams and then a heap of junk each year, with each program having cycles of being one of the good ones (save for Miss St, Kentucky, etc). Now the whole league is able to recruit nationally now rather than fight each other and the ACC schools for local talent.
