1) Will Stein was the #1 reason the ducks didn’t cover the spread.

Its was 33.5 consensus at kickoff and 27.5 at open. Either way you covered

Thought it was 35, regardless, Oregon literally could’ve dropped at least 50 and won by 40+ if they wanted to. They had no chance at covering Moore, Benson, Bryant, and Sadiq.Zyme wrote: Sat Sep 20, 2025 6:51 pmThe spread was covered, over under was notOregonFan4Life wrote: Sat Sep 20, 2025 4:24 pm Some thoughts nobody asked for:

The Ducks looked disjointed. I'm hoping this was just an extra vanilla playbook to not show our hand for next week. I definitely wasn't satisfied with this win, I don't feel that I saw any one group make any progress, but hoping it was just because we were keeping things simple.
Didn't see any injuries so that's a silver lining.

STU - that feeling you are feeling is that you really want to gripe about something but deep down you know you can’t.
This team took the best shot from their wounded in-state rival and cruised to a 34 point victory while barely breaking a sweat.
I look at it like this. 49 yards of Beaver offense were because of miscommunication/busted coverage or a poor run fit. Things that this staff has shown they can diagnose and address quickly. Hell, this game they did that basically in-game. Even with their 3 “biggest plays”, OSU only had 147 yards. What more do we want?
Oregon cruised to a cover (at most books), in a rivalry game, and didn’t show a lot to Penn State.
If Lanning and the team were pissed off like they were at the other OSU that wears orange and black, this score would have ultimately resembled that score. But we just cruised and now we prep for Pedo State.
Lest y’all recall, we were all freaking the EFF out about our chances against tOSU last year (albeit at home) and in 2021 at The Shoe.
Allar is no Stroud, Dante is much better than Brown and Lanning/Stein are aligned in vision AND thus > than Mario/Moorhead (who were oil and water).
I like our chances in Happy Valley.

Typical fan take:
1. Oregon will wax OSU, but a 34 point spread is ridiculous
2. Oregon wins by 34
3. Oregon played #$%^& game, will lose to PSU

I see the point and busted fits are unacceptable but there is minimal room for Hankerson to run if at all and we aren’t losing the point of attack. I’ll reserve judgement until the half.
I see your cause for concern STU.
The biggest run the beavs LT literally grabbed the DE, and tacked him. Should have been a flag.

Re: Oregon State @ #6 Oregon (Sept. 20, Sat Noon BTN)
My concerns (contrary to the popular dialogue) are mostly on the offensive side of the ball. This game looked like a lot of our games last year against bad/injured teams... the defense was mostly great, but the offense didn't seem to play with much rhythm. We put up lots of points, but it wasn't clean. Receivers weren't getting open, Dante had to run too much, and had the Beavers not shot themselves in the foot a few times they might have put up another score and kept it close into the third quarter.Hell, this game they did that basically in-game. Even with their 3 “biggest plays”, OSU only had 147 yards. What more do we want?
Last year's team was really good, but they also looked broken against subpar competition and struggled defensively against elite teams.
We'll know exactly how good this team can be next weekend.

Good points, but on the other hand, if not for a missed assignment in the secondary, resulting in the Beav's getting a 1st down at the Oregon one yard line, the Ducks may have shut them out.Dante had to run too much, and had the Beavers not shot themselves in the foot a few times they might have put up another score and kept it close into the third quarter.
Honestly, I get the feeling that the Ducks haven't fully shown their hand on either side of the ball, waiting for Penn State to open things up.
I hope I'm right.

The running back room is so crowded and the carries behind the starter are so spread out it is tough for the backups to get comfortable and show what they can do. With that said the pairing of Noah and Limar as RB1 and 2 was a nice balance. With Noah out I think Hill Jr is the most complementary back to Limar. I'd like to see him get the bulk of RB2 carries at this time.
Also I'd like to sign that petition to have Moore's name changed to Ducklorean.

Me too, with the exception of goal line/short yardage situations where I'd want to bring in Davidson (#0).GrandpaDuck wrote: Sun Sep 21, 2025 11:00 am The running back room is so crowded and the carries behind the starter are so spread out it is tough for the backups to get comfortable and show what they can do.
