Our Next 2 Games May Determine Our Season

Sorry to the Indiana fan on this forum, you seem cool..

BUT, I watched extended highlights of the Indiana at Iowa game and Iowa lost it more than Indiana won it. Maybe my eyes are fooling me but I can clearly see a talent difference between that game and Oregon at Penn State. Mendoza is really good, not deadly accurate like Moore, but he’s mature and knows the offense and trusts his receivers. This will be a test for Oregon but unless the team plays flat and doesn’t come out motivated I don’t see how Oregon can utilize the superior talent to make sure this isn’t a game by halfway through the 4th quarter.

I heard a couple people (including Hythloday) say Indiana is better than Penn State, and I’m sure their offensive scheme is better, but I don’t see a team better than Penn State. I don’t mean to sound like a cocky fan as I’m the negative one usually, but as of right now, I just see a talent difference between Indiana and Oregon.

I along with other Hoosier fans didn't understand our game plan. We seemed to want to beat Iowa at their own game. Made no sense. Didn't use the passing game like we should have.

From what I saw (and granted I didn’t watch the entire game) Indiana receivers were getting open fairly often but Iowa seemed to also get pressure on Mendoza frequently and maybe that’s why they weren’t airing it out?. I’m sure Indiana will throw the ball a lot at Oregon and won’t make things easy for the Oregon defense.

My worry is a duck fan is our DC is obsessed with blitzing but we have an elite DL with one of the best pass rushers in the nation in Matayo, so I don’t feel like Oregon will need to blitz but I know they will and Indiana will be able to just throw quick inside slants all game long. That was sort of how the Maryland game went last year and honestly Oregon was lucky to win that game as much as they won by.

I think Cignetti is going to die on his shield in this one and it could be an ugly score by halftime. What I mean by that is I don't think IU is going to hold their offense back and that might hurt them and put them in a big hole but its probably also the only way they can win outside of their last trip to Autzen and our 7 turnovers.

That game is the reason I still get nervous every time the ducks field a punt…

I was at that game with an IU grad and he was talking so much $h!t after the game about how we gave them the game and how there was no way Indiana even belonged on the same field with us. I almost drove off and left him the game pissed me off so bad. In hindsight, that season had to happen or else we would have never gone and gotten Crowton, who ultimately led MB to Chip.
