Watching UCLA’s offense and their playcalling makes me feel validated in my criticism of Will Stein. I know Penn State is down and unmotivated but I don’t believe Penn State has the athletes to stick with Oregon’s offense but Stein’s obsession of being “efficient” and the short yardage run game with Whittington and Limar seemed to really limit the offense last week. I know the crowd was a factor and the offense made a few mistakes but if the passing game was opened up and if we utilized Hill’s speed more on the edges I don’t see any reason why Oregon could’ve have ended the game by the 4th quarter and put up at least 30 points in regulation. Maybe he will as the season goes on but I do question if Stein’s playcalling/strategy is best for this team and the ceiling this passing offense has.

If UCLA hires Will Stein as their HC and Oregon Snags Jerry Neuheisel as OC, Oregon comes out on top.

lol, this is a ridiculous take. Stein has proven to be one of the best OCs in the country for 3 years, and another guy has 1 good game of play calling, and suddenly he’s an upgrade? The view that some of our fan base has of Stein is wild.

I think Miami is #1 right now, assuming they hold on and beat FSU.

As I mentioned in another post, it's still too early to tell how good Ohio State and Oregon really are based on their level of competition.

Beating Indiana would be big for the Ducks, but only because they destroyed Illinois. Other than that win, they've looked pretty pedestrian, as well.

I guess all we can do is just keep winning and let everything play out.

In other news, what's up with Texas Tech this year? I know they had an alumnus who is providing a lot of support to the program, and they just secured a 5* commit.

Are they good/dangerous this year? From the looks of it, they could go undefeated in the regular season. Never really heard much of their coach either.

Their handling of Utah was pretty surprising, but other than that they haven't really played anyone. Houston is not a good measuring stick, they should've lost to Oregon state last week.

They forget the offense doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Penn St. has a really talented defense and was playing 3 high safeties most of the game…

They've allowed one sack through five games. The running game is overall solid. It's not the best unit, and it would take a lot of effort to figure out exactly where they stack up, but they're not the worst of the last twenty years. Off the top of my head, any of them featuring Doug Brenner, Jake Pisarcik, and/or the 5'9 walk in from Hawai'i whose name escapes me were all worse.
