Wonder what happened to the early rumor on Fisch to Florida. Being that his wife moved back to Arizona, and hated Seattle, he hasn’t seem to have made a move, or isn’t as highly regarded? Does he have a huge buyout (not that it affects SEC schools)?

Those rumors always spawned from the fact that he was alum at Florida, and had previously coached at UCLA. There was never any indication that either school was ever really interested in him. I think the rumors of his wife hating Seattle are valid, but lucky for us, he’s stuck there, as there aren’t better opportunities out there for him. I’ve said this from the get go. I never understood why people thought he’d end up there. Florida fans would revolt if he were the choice.

The part about his wife hating Seattle seems like classic message board fodder. From what I understand, his kid is finishing HS in Arizona and that’s why his wife is down there.

She may dislike Seattle but I think people are spinning it into something much more dramatic than it actually is.

I heard that she, like most people, thinks Seattle is a soulless, grey, miserable center of depresssion that you only live in when it's economically unavoidable, such is the case with Jedd Fisch.

Seems like she's an observant woman

I still don't see how well Sitake fits at Penn State. PSU really messed up by not going after Chesney.

I thought Hartline could’ve been a good fit, definitely seems like an odd hire to me and a step down from Franklin.

I'll continue to lobby for Trent Bray as DC if/when Lupoi goes. I think a big part of why Jonathan Smith didn't succeed at MSU is that the defense was what made Oregon State so good during his tenure, and that's directly because of Bray's work at DC. He'd make our linebackers better, at a minimum.

And for fun, why not Chip Kelly as OSU's new offensive coordinator. That'd be a good time.

Completely agree. Smith’s tenure at OSU turned a corner the moment he fired their DC mid-season and promoted Bray. I remember their defense literally transformed in one week. People forget that Smith was not doing well at OSU before that decision.

I'm too lazy to dig it up, but the calendar comments mirror more-or-less exactly the comments Lanning made preseason on somebody's podcast.

Regarding freedom of movement, he's never going to win that battle. The US courts have basically said that students can go wherever they want. So that one is sort of dead.

As I think most of us expected, Kalani Sitake is turning down Penn State to stay at BYU.

For Penn State, the only candidates left that have been tied to the job are Brian Daboll (former Giants coach) and Brian Hartline (tOSU OC).

Daboll as a college OC sounds fun; HC I wouldn't be so sure of.

Hartline going to PSU would be pretty wild as I've also read the Titans may want Ryan Day (though not really sure why he'd give up what he's got going other than OSU fans being overwhelming)
