Kenny Wheaton's Son Signs with the Beavers
Kai Wheaton, a 3* CB from Texas, signed with Oregon State today. OSU's X post reporting it even said, "Welcome home."

Markus Wheaton had a good career for them and as the JV school now for the State of Oregon, hard to not root for a lot of the local kids they've signed.
Deryk Farmer from Medford will be one that I'll keep an eye on along with Rocco de la Rosa from Philomath. Farmer has good speed for a Safety and Rocco stands out far more in person than he does on film as a WR.

Re: Kenny Wheaton's Son Signs with the Beavers
I've been watching Kai's film since he became a starter as a sophomore. At the time, he had good size and you could see the upside depending on how he physically developed. Unfortunately, he didn't get the athleticism that dad and Markus had. Hopefully he can be a heady player like Jaydon Grant became for the Beavs. I very much understand and agree with Oregon not offering him, though I think they brought him on a visit at one point, which I think is the right move for legacy players.

I suppose if he turned out to be better than expected, Oregon via the portal could be a possibility down the road.

If Oregon stopped scheduling them, I could get on board with this.Duck07 wrote: Wed Dec 03, 2025 12:33 pm Markus Wheaton had a good career for them and as the JV school now for the State of Oregon, hard to not root for a lot of the local kids they've signed.
