They’re just trying to help out their own conference.

Oh interesting. When I was watching JMU play Troy yesterday, I kept thinking "Damn, they're really small and really slow" with the exception of their running back having good top end speed. I think we might beat them by 45. Tulane looked like a big, physical team by contrast when I switched to that game. Our defensive line should feast on either.

OK good to know, I just thought their running game could give our LB’s fits, but regardless if Oregon struggles against either Tulane or James Madison then they won’t go far in the tourney.

I got to the point of rooting for Virginia because I think they'd have a realistic shot to knock off Ole Miss (my presumption of the 6 seed), but not looking great. I also now am coming around to the belief that the committee might pull some funny business to put Miami in if Virginia doesn't win.
As much as I’d love to see Miami get left out I do believe they deserve it over both Notre Dame and Alabama.

Me too.

In all fairness, Alabama should get the nod for sure because they had the 6th hardest SOS. Miami and Notre Dame are both in the low 40s.

I think the fair thing to do would leave both Notre Dame and Miami out and put Alabama and 11-2 BYU in. BYU is 2-2 vs the Top-25 where both Notre Dame and Miami are 1-2 vs the Top-25 with Miami owning the head to head win.

Another reason to add Alabama and BYU is that they both made their conference championship games. Miami didn't make theirs and Notre Dame doesn't have one.
