Morning after deep breaths for everyone

Post by bdkipe »

So, after listening to a few recap shows a few things became apparent.

We started subbing deep into the depth chart in the 2nd quarter. The 24/7 boys actually pulled out snap counts and verified this.

When it MATTERED, jMU could do nothing on offense and couldn’t stop us whatsoever.

It was 34-6 at the half and it was only that because of a trick play and a PI/slip INT when we would have gotten at least a FG at the end of the 1st half. It should have been 37-3 at half time.

If Texas Tech wants to watch tape and build a game plan around the success JMU’s starters had…against a 3rd string mix and match spring game lineup…after it was 48-13…then by all means be my guest.

I really do think the overreactions were because many of us have PTSD from the 2015 Alamo Bowl and the 2022 Civil War.

Let me put it like this, the game reminded me a lot of the 2025 Rose Bowl, with us in the role of tOSU and JMU in the role of us. Did any of us feel like it was close against tOSU? No.

The best thing about this was that it completely pissed off the coaches and the team to the point there was no music in the locker room and Lanning looked ready to murder someone in the presser.

We should be very encouraged that this team holds itself to a standard.
