These TNT broadcast guys basically just crowned Texas Tech the Orange Bowl winners, I expect a lot more Texas Tech love from the media especially with the defensive performance from Oregon.

But I think Oregon will win, Texas Tech is talented but they have an average QB at best and they haven’t played anyone near to the caliber of Oregon meanwhile Oregon has played tough teams with strong DLines. Penn State had a great DLine and were really good before Oregon broke them, Iowa has a stout DLine, and even Washington has a really good DLine. None of them may be as good as Texas Tech but they’re good and the Oregon OLine is tested. Who has Texas Tech gone against? Best teams they’ve faced are Utah and BYU that wouldn’t finish in the top 7 of the B1G and the rest of their schedule was against nobodies that wouldn’t sniff the top half of the B1G.

The reality is Texas Tech won’t be prepared for this Oregon team due to their schedule meanwhile Oregon will be ready for a physical battle.

Davison getting hurt was coaching malpractice. Mostly from Tosh.

Oregon has also played against Indiana, collectively a better DL and defensive unit than that of Texas Tech's.

Texas Tech is going to be coming off 25 days off, which probably means rust, at least in the first half. The 4 bye teams last year trailed at half by 10, 10, 14, and 26.

Tech fans seem a confident bunch, especially in their defense, but I am just not totally sure the B12 had a strong year. After Utah, BYU were their next two biggest wins and BYU was picked to finish 9th in the preseason poll. Sometimes that jump is totally legit and sometimes it is because most of the conference end up sort of a_s, so somebody has to finish near the top. I think Arizona and Houston finishing 4th and 5th is sort of the same deal. Utah was solid but averaging 41 points per game sort of points to there being a lot of JAGs in the conference.

TT lose to ASU and all we hear is their QB was out and that is fair; but, Tech actually took the lead 22-19, and were kicking off with 2 minutes left in the game. They get their 1985 Chicago Bears defense on the field to end the game. ASU goes 10 plays and 75 yards in 1:25 to take back the lead. In the drive TT gets ASU into a 4th and 2 with 0:55 seconds left for a walk-off win. Leavitt completes 33 yards to Tyson instead. Holding them to a FG means OT. ASU instead scores a TD to win 26-22.

I said I like our chances against everyone until the semis. I could see us losing but of all the teams left I like our odds. If we can get into pole position I dont see tech coming back.

Us as a fanbase being nervous based on results after a 48-13 lead with 19 minutes remaining is fearmongering.

I said it in another post. Other than a trick play and a questionable INT, those were the only ways JMU moved the ball when it mattered.

Their QB was also less than 50% completion thanks to some fluky long completions.

Is anyone going? I know of one person, which is to say that I expect very sparse attendance from Oregon fans.

It would be easier to justify if there wasn’t a chance I’d be right back there in 3 weeks. Not going to make that cross country trip multiple times in that short of a time span, so I’m going to hold out in hopes that they make the natty. It’s truly a dumb set up to have teams play 3 consecutive neutral site games where fans have about a week each time to figure out travel. They really need to at minimum make these second round games home games.

TV absolutely kills the stadium experience as it is.

Pause for a 2:50 TV timeout.

Oh what was that, a touchback on a kickoff.

Pause for a 2:50 TV timeout.

If that was a real game (Pause for a 2:50 timeout) where you weren't selling ads every 15 minutes, you'd actually give teams an opportunity to get and sustain momemtum in their home environment.

I know why Alabama came back - that whole team got an extra 15 minutes of timeouts to correct and fix everything that was happening before it could get out of control and those timeouts take the air out of the stadium because everyone is griping at another delay in the game.

Pause for a 2:30 timeout

See, you thought they were all 2:50's you suckers!
