He made sure that his 2026 deal offsets the opportunity cost of not entering the upcoming draft. Or maybe he just didn't want to play for the Jets 😅

Who in their right mind would want to play for the Jets!

He's a bit too raw, a bit too young, and a bit too inexperienced...
This. I think his issues are fixable with more reps and experience. You cant teach arm strength and accuracy though, and holy cow can he sling it.

If Sorsby is getting 5 Million, Dante is probably getting something that offsets the first year of a deal in the NFL perhaps? so thats somewhere between 8-12 million as a cap hit, where he would be taken?

And Raiola pushing him can only help! Gotta love the QB room for next season and should see little to no drop off if QB2 has to play...

Not only that, this gives Raiola time to heal without pushing to start next year!

Raiola strikes me as the type that would end up being ok with sitting for a year, but at the same time will do whatever he can to push for the starting spot. He’s very confident and a competitor, I know people are worried about him being a distraction but I truly think he’ll elevate the QB room the same way Bear elevated the DL room.

I doubt that. As good as Dante is, if that's the scenario then you'd rather have Sorsby + $3-7 million to get the best offensive line money can buy.

Give me Philip Rivers behind a line of Pro Bowlers over Tom Brady behind the Chargers line every single time. And Dante is not Brady.

Do we think that a big insurance package is also involved?

Gotta be. A big injury is the only thing that would make this a bad decision. So if he's financially covered in such scenario, there is 0 risk for him coming back another season.

I doubt he's getting that much either. He's definitely getting less by coming back. But he's gonna get his money in NFL no matter what. For him, being more prepared for the NFL + getting drafted by someone that's not the Jets so he can increase his chances of lasting in the NFL is probably more important.

I also imagine he'll get a lot of advertising/endorsement deals this offseason. Him and Arch will be the two biggest names in college football, so I expect millions of $$$ there for him too.

Oregon has a chance to the funniest thing. Dante plays the first half, Dylan plays the 2nd.. teams will never see it coming. They will have to basically scout to play two different teams!

Thats a joke of course.. But its how I run my NCAA 25 team on the Playstation.

Oregon doesn't have to pay Moore like other QB1s since he's got outside deals with companies like BeatsByDre, Factor Meals, DoorDash, CVS, DripDrop, EBay, and Nike.

Makes me think of other QBs in their last year. They either improved quite a bit (Mariota, Herbert, Nix) or a *lot* (Akili, Dixon).

and from what ive heard, when Dante eats, his OL eats as well. He isnt shy about hooking his teammates up.

And even then, he still has another year he could return for if he gets hurt. So really, there is no downside to him returning, especially when it leads to him getting a giant second contract in the nfl. Instead of last 3 years as a starter, then become a journeyman backup.
