Shedeur Sanders added to Pro Bowl roster

Post by OregonFan4Life »

In a somewhat surprising event, Shedeur Sanders was reportedly added to the Pro Bowl roster. I figure this was worth adding as there seems to be some posters who have strong opinions about Shedeur Sanders…..

Granted he was added as a replacement, but this is still surprising given his poor performance this season.

Does anyone watch the Pro Bowl?
Maybe he'll get an extra $250k for this prestigious selection.

Well that makes me respect the pro bowl selection all that much more, here you go Dion, as desired.

Complete joke. Evidently ESPN heads the selection committee. Guess the NFL is doing anything to draw any sort of audience, worthy or not. Might as well add Phillip Rivers.

Well yeah! Rivers had a better year! Pro Bowl sucks and has for many years. NBA all star game sucks! Only MLB all star game is somewhat watchable because pitchers don't want to look like crap and hitters vice a versa!

There’s really not much to take it from it outside of 10 guys either being injured or turning down the invite. Tyler Huntley made the Pro Bowl as a replacement a few years ago with 4 starts and accounting for 3 TDs on the year. The Pro Bowl is meaningless and really just a matter of who actually wants to make the trip these days than an actual accomplishment.

Hard to believe they couldn't find another QB for the Pro Bowl better than him.

Guys legitimately don't care to attend, particularly QBs seemingly. They almost certainly got turned down by numerous guys. Guys are just ready to get into the offseason and don't care to go play a flag football game.

It is the norm to see players referred to as something like "3 years All-Pro, 6 Pro-Bowl Selections" and it meant something in defining a career.

Of course the most over-used and over-rated laurel for Pro-Football players is "Super Bowl winner".

How is Super Bowl winner over rated? That’s the only thing that actually matters

Guys who never get off the bench - "So and So was a super bowl winner"

Even starters on a super bowl winning team who the team would love to upgrade, say a barely adequate player gets the Super Bowl winner tag. The Chargers right guard Becton was the worse starting guard in the league but he got big bucks because he was a starter on Super Bowl winning Eagles the previous year.

Even the starting Quarterbacks of the winning team can be a mediocre player. Doug Williams, Nick Foles and Mark Rypien are not more Hall of Fame worthy than Dan Fouts, Dan Marino, Brian Kelly, Josh Allen and others who never won a Super Bowl.
