Oregon nearly pulled off the win against Purdue with Bittle having 23 points in his first game back. Ducks led with just over a minute left but Purdue retook the lead on a three after Simpkins fell down while chasing his man and getting bumped by the screener. After that, Oregon just couldn't hit a shot to tie or take the lead again.

It wasn't the 3pt misses that lost the game. It was fouls and resulting free throws.
Ducks committed 21 personal fouls resulting in 19 made free throws by Purdue.
Purdue was whistled for 14 fouls and Oregon converted 11 points at the charity stripe.
That 8 point differential was the game.
