Both of these teams would lose to high level national high school teams. God awful shooting, terrible passing, indiscernible game plan, just zero offense. Not good defense mind you. Horrific. Could walk down to Lakeridge High to watch better everything. Get the vets off the payroll, and start over with a clean sheet, and a coach that can bring anyone that can hit a simple jumper from 10 feet. Worst Oregon team I’ve ever witnessed, and it’s not close, going back to the Monson era.

At least we aren’t last place in the B1G! Oregon had to use all of their hot shooting just to beat Penn State and avoid last place.

That they continue to shoot threes is a crime.

Yay….15th out of 16 teams. And another sub .500 comes into MAC and blasts us tonight. Embarrassing. Shelstad may have given a few more close games, but he was subpar up until he went on the injured list. Evens is the same player he was the day he came on campus. Way unreliable, for three plus years. I’m not sure Dana is coaching up his big three. Haven’t seen much improvement in them over the years.

I’ve been pretty silent cause I’ve made my opinion known over the years, but to me this has been an issue for a little while now. Pritchard managed to improve his final season but he was quite frustrating his first three seasons and Will Richardson was the same player all 4 seasons, and talk about a frustrating player. Altman lost some key assistants after the Final Four run and while we had a couple good seasons with Sweet Sixteen appearances he never seemed to recover from those coaching departures.

I know there has been bad luck with injuries, but between the lack of development, poor fundamentals, continued misses in the portal, uninspiring play, and lack of fan support, Mullens has almost no choice but to move on from Altman. I guess he could give him one more season to turn things around if we get Shelstad and Evans back but not sure that’s a risk Mullens can take. If we have another season like this next season it would feel a lot like Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State, except Altman would behave in a much classier manner.

Do we really want Evans back? It might be better to use his money in the portal.

The biggest bummer is we don’t even have any young guys who could potentially step up next season. Basically we have Shelstad and Ariza. Hope we have enough money to land a quality couple starters in the portal. Otherwise we’ll have same problems next year.

I love Altman and never thought I’d wanna move on from him, but now is the time to do it IMO. We have nothing to lose and I don’t see Altman bouncing back to an ncaa tournament level for a few seasons…
