Miranda is such a liability. I wish coaches would replace him with Jaska.

Yikes, some sloppy play from Oregon so far. Also feels like an Oregon tradition to leaves stranded runners against the Beavers.

Gotta love it when our bullpen gifts the opponents free runs, we are very used to that as Oregon fans.

Oregon's pitchers outside of their starters is looking very suspect, as usual. Beginning to wonder what happened to Ian Umlandt, who hasn't pitched outside of one appearance so far.

I know it’s not over yet to say this but…

The 9-1 start was fun but this game clearly shows us what we should expect from this Oregon team. Oregon St is clearly the better team. Bats were cold for Oregon but they still managed to put up 3 runs but as we’ve seen under Wasikowski if the bats aren’t hot this team will not win or even get close.

It’s wild that so far every single year under Wasikowski we have a bullpen that struggles so much, I know it’s early in the year but there’s nothing to indicate it’ll be a different story this year.

Ducks lose 6-10. Gave it an effort but dug themselves too big of a hole courtesy of the struggling bullpen. Won’t win many games giving up double digit runs.

I would say they are clearly the better team during that game, not necessarily overall. Mid week games can be a complete toss up. Gosztola was really the only pitcher we used last night that has pitched in meaningful spots for the most part. Maybe Meckna to some degree as well. As someone else mentioned, I was also curious about Umlandt. I don’t think we’ve seen him since the George Mason series. I also agree that Jaksa should be playing first with Mabeus catching. I think the issue though is that Jaksa and Mabeus are the only two catchers on the roster if I’m not mistaken. Waz likes to rotate his catchers.

Except for when we won the last 6 games before this.

Umlandt is injured and in a sling. So wouldn't expect much (if anything) from him this year.

Our bullpen on paper is not that impressive to me. Last year we at least had the arms to do good things in the bullpen. And there were stretches where they looked good. This year, it feels like our talent level in the bullpen is subpar compared to many other top 50 teams.

Nice to see us fight back in this game. Also keep in mind that 10 run number is a little bloated do to errors and some bad walks. Clean that stuff up, and this is actually a close game.

Any idea about the injury?

Don't know exactly but someone said on tos: "Spotted Umlandt in the dugout and he unfortunately has an elbow brace on his left arm. "

Gotcha. I think we have good enough staters and enough decent bullpen arms to get through the big ten series and into the post season. We have a couple weeks where we have two midweek games followed by a tough three game weekend series that worry me. I was at the game on Tuesday, and while it sucked to lose I think getting these young guys live reps against good teams will wind up paying off. We had some bad errors and just a few timely hits made the difference. That bases clearing double with two outs was a big one, if I recall correctly, that was the inning of the error on the bunt and we should have gotten out of it before that double. Hopefully Umlandt will be able to come back at some point.
