B1G Tournament: Oregon vs Maryland (Tue 2 pm, Peacock)

Post by UOducksTK1 »

Part of me wishes the season ended and we didn't play in the tournament. Ending the season with the Husky win woulda been good enough for me.

Who knows, maybe Ducks can win a couple..

Best I think they do is maybe beat Maryland and just keep it close against Iowa.

Welp, that’s about as bad of a first half as we could imagine. Only 3 field goals in the first half, all by Bittle. Yikes. Not like we’re down 33-12 to a top team with dominant defense, this is Maryland.

In the first 4 minutes and 30 seconds in the 2nd half, we scored more points than we did in the entire 1st half. Ha.

3 point shooting is once again abysmal. We are going with 20 losses. When was the last time?

Well at least they made it sorta interesting late in the second half, but that was an embarrassing end to the season. No chance this team gets an NIT invitation, maybe CBI, but would anyone want that honestly?

I know this will be a hot topic of discussion but I am so ready for Altman to retire and for Mullens to bring in someone new. Oregon basketball needs some new life badly. I understand wanting to give Altman another chance but there’s been a bit of a decline lately and I just don’t see Altman being the guy to revive Oregon basketball. He’s done enough and has had a great career, time for him to enjoy retirement and time for fresh blood at Oregon. To me Altman retiring is the best for both sides.

Oh I missed one season. We also went 8-23 with Ernie Kent in 2008. So not as bad!

If only they played like they did in the 2nd half the entire game. Hopefully Altman is committed to making some changes to his staff and finally hiring a GM to manage NIL and the roster. The AD needs to put some resources into the program so it's at least in the top half of the Big Ten in financial backing. Not going to be surprised by any transfer/return decisions from anybody with remaining eligibility after how this season went. Real possibility there's 10-12 new faces on next year's roster.
