Oregon's pitching and defense have been less than good tonight. There's been multiple chances where the Ducks have bungled inning ending plays that allowed UCLA to score at least 3 extra runs. One issue I keep noticing is Mabeus loses track of a lot of balls in the dirt behind home plate. It feels like it takes him way too long to locate the ball, even when it hasn't gone very far away from him.

Bruins are just a darn good baseball team. So balanced across their entire lineup and their pitching is top notch.

This UCLA team is an all time great team, the ducks need to play a flawless game just to have a chance at beating UCLA. I hope the ducks can manage to win a game this weekend but would be pleasantly surprised if they do.

The little mistakes are costing Oregon again. After giving up a HR to Cholowsky, Clarke got a strikeout and Mabeus had a perfect throw to 2B to pick off a UCLA baserunner but Molony dropped the ball. UCLA then reeled off 3 straight 2-out doubles to plate 3 runs. 4-0 Bruins after 1 inning and Clarke is already at 38 total pitches.

Oregon has responded with a Miranda RBI double and then Lauaki drills a 3-run HR to dead CF to tie it.

Clarke did give up another HR in the B3 but he's definitely found rhythm after a rough 1st inning. Also not sure why it's gotten so chippy between UCLA and Oregon as the umps have had to warn both dugouts and then for whatever reason threw out Oregon 3B coach Brett Thomas after UCLA's 1B coach (who was also thrown out) started jawing at Oregon.

Ducks have tied it at 5 headed to the B7. Cal Scolari has had a nice relief outing so far. Edit: And of course right after I posted this, Cholowsky hits another solo HR to open the B7.

Oregon has tied it up on a Maddox Molony double to RF to score Angel Laya from 1B. Great slide by Laya to get under the tag.

Ducks complete the comeback and beat #1 UCLA. Would be huge if they could win the series tomorrow.
