No offense to Jack, but we need to find a better hitting center fielder.greenyellow wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 11:05 am It's sort of funny that Oregon's starting OF next season could be Jax Gimenez, Jack Brooks, and Jake Books.

Junior Lauaki is gone and has a do-not-contact tag already, which means he's already got a landing spot. Sucks to see Oregon getting decimated because they don't have SEC money to retain their own players.

Hopefully we’ll be able to retain Jaksa.

Re: 2026 Offseason Transfers In/Out
Oregon getting to Omaha is starting to feel further and further away with how the Ducks can't retain homegrown players anymore. Latest rumor is that Will Sanford may be the next one to leave, which would leave a major hole in their rotation with him, Clarke, and possibly Gosztola (draft) all not returning. Then you'd have to worry about Scolari getting poached or drafted as well.

Looks like Cooney, Molony, and Scolari are all attending the MLB Draft combine. Cooney and Molony could easily be replaced but losing Scolari would hurt with how valuable starting pitchers are.

I guess until Oregon gets full B1G revenue sharing we just can’t expect Oregon to compete at the top in basketball and baseball. Mullens has to be smart with limited finances and he knows football is the best investment.
Just a reminder to everyone (especially OSU fans) that USC’s dirty tactics really hurt everyone else in the Pac financially. Their dishonesty led to this, though Oregon and Washington are in a much better situation than all other Pac-12 teams that didn’t join the B1G.

Even with full revenue share. We will never be able to fund a baseball team like the SEC does. We will always be losing any elite freshmen talent to these schools.OregonFan4Life wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 2:53 pm I guess until Oregon gets full B1G revenue sharing we just can’t expect Oregon to compete at the top in basketball and baseball. Re: 2026 Offseason Transfers In/Out
Oregon has added Long Beach State INF Jake Evans, who was a All-Big West 2nd Team selection after hitting .364 with 3 HRs and 16 RBIs. Primarily a 2B (but can play 3B) so he seems like a potential replacement for Ryan Cooney.

I will say... The three transfers we added all seem to have potential to be high quality starters for us.greenyellow wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2026 12:37 am Oregon has added Long Beach State INF Jake Evans, who was a All-Big West 2nd Team selection after hitting .364 with 3 HRs and 16 RBIs. We will miss the power of Laya and Lauaki, but in terms of on base percentage and batting average, I think Johnstone, Evans, and Books are gonna be just as good.

Re: 2026 Offseason Transfers In/Out
He's also draft eligible so he may not have returned even he didn't enter the portal. Keeping Jaksa now is of the utmost importance so they have someone returning who's played catcher. Him leaving and the Ducks having at least 2 incoming commits who play the position says they thought he might leave.
