Re: Scout's Predictions
So we'll let Miami have Thomas and we'll take Owa, that would take care of the split. Then convince Heimuli and Jeff to change their minds ala Bryce Brown and Tahj Boyd (lord knows we have recruiting karma coming eventually.)DmoneyDuck wrote:http://oregon.scout.com/2/939802.html

That would be nice. I'll be surprised if we get all of those guys though.

Re: Scout's Predictions
That wouldn't be so bad. The only one that I would be kind of upset about as far as recruiting goes would be Owa. Other than that, pretty good.

Re: Scout's Predictions
I'll take Lache, Werner, Owa, Dargan in that order. Then, I'd love to get Heimuli to shore up our weakness at DT. If we score the first four that everyone is rumoring that we'll get, it'll be amazing.
However, I've been disappointed two years in a row on solid recruiting closes, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on all of them...

Re: Scout's Predictions
There are lots of positive signs that we will finish very strong. Some interesting observations from those predictions.
Heimuli to UCLA? I wasn't even aware that he was considering them.
Neither predict Thomas to Miami. I thought that was a slam dunk.
Also, what's with Olive saying that OSU is still a player for Owa?
http://highschoolsports.oregonlive.com/ ... gon-state/
Are they just misinformed (likely) or are they back in it. They reason this would concern me is because I would wonder if he is changing his intended major back to engineering from Business. That would not be good for us.

Re: Scout's Predictions
From what I have been hearing Gabe King is taking a wait and see approach on Oregon because if Owa commits to us, Gabe thinks there is not enough room for him here. We would have the returning sack leader of the Pac 10 in Kenny Rowe and Owa on the other end... Sounds like we are the final 2 for Owa, and his mom does not want him to go out of state. OSU is making a strong push as of late, trying to win over mom but Owa is not really interested... If we land Owa, we will not get Gabe.

That's 2 bad, I'll be excited if we can get at least Owa. But I'd love to hav both, we're not that loaded on the Dline, come on Gabe there's plenty of PT for you.duckfan2121 wrote:From what I have been hearing Gabe King is taking a wait and see approach on Oregon because if Owa commits to us, Gabe thinks there is not enough room for him here. Re: Scout's Predictions
Whats odd is that they really don't play the same position...so that statement seems out of place.duckfan2121 wrote:From what I have been hearing Gabe King is taking a wait and see approach on Oregon because if Owa commits to us, Gabe thinks there is not enough room for him here. Re: Scout's Predictions
apparently he isn't aware two DE's can play at the same time.
Not only is there room for both to play, but I really think both could play NEXT year.
I would rather have Owa if I had to choose one. Hopefully the rumor that McCain would follow to Cal is not true. The decision would be a little more difficult if we had to chose between just Owa and King/McCain.
I wonder if these McCain rumors have anything to do with the article on Rivals that we are now after Josh Shirley.

Re: Scout's Predictions
I thought McCain was a greyshirt candidate, in which case he really shouldn't be affected by this recruiting cycle.PDXShogun wrote:apparently he isn't aware two DE's can play at the same time. Not only is there room for both to play, but I really think both could play NEXT year.

Re: Scout's Predictions
Correct. He's not graduating until after fall quarter next year. But if Gabe King ends up at Cal, the rumor is that McCain may follow. He just wouldn't enroll there until after next season where King would enroll for fall.maxduck wrote:I thought McCain was a greyshirt candidate, in which case he really shouldn't be affected by this recruiting cycle.PDXShogun wrote:apparently he isn't aware two DE's can play at the same time. Not only is there room for both to play, but I really think both could play NEXT year.

THis was discussed in one of the other threads. I just can't remember which one.

I think Owa and King should be switched

Re: Scout's Predictions
I would be okay with that final list. I do think we have a better shot at Owa than King.
