Ridiculous how many teams will advance after stage play. More is not always better...

It's unfortunately a plague hitting all sports. All about the money, rather than what the fans want.UOducksTK1 wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 9:36 am Ridiculous how many teams will advance after stage play. More is not always better...

I've actually seen videos showing that many of these teams aren't use to the type of heat we have here, and they are legitimately dehydrating during practices.Zyme wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 7:48 am "Hydration break" FFS, gtfo. Blatant creating quarter break where they can shove ads at you

Absolutely ruins the continuation that makes Soccer fun with its momentum runs and substitution strategies.Zyme wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 7:48 am "Hydration break" FFS, gtfo. Blatant creating quarter break where they can shove ads at you
It’s all about the money.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2026
For real. I’ve watched most USA’s friendlies and all their World Cup games since the late 90s, and that first half may have been the best half ever. Coulda easily been up 5-0.

Questionable red card in US game.
VAR really sucks in a lot of ways.

Yeah, that Red was not warranted. Our boy wasn’t even looking at his foot placement. It was just an unfortunate collision of feet. Not nefarious or out of control either. Bad call.

Didn't expect FIFA to suspend Balogun's red card and make him eligible for the game tomorrow. The US' chances against Belgium just went up considerably.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2026
Belgium is trying desperately to reverse the reversal, haha. What a great look for them, not wanting to face the U.S. team at full strength.
These red cards are harsh, having to play the rest of the game with one less player and then the guy misses the entire next round as well. Seems like they should be saved for actual malicious play or fighting rather than an incidental moment where two players tried to get to the same spot at once. It felt like the refs in the booth were taking advantage of the situation to get rid of the best goal scorer on the U.S. team, and now Belgium is mad that the maneuver didn't stick. Just play the darn game.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2026
Would be interesting to see two levels of Red's sort of like a F1 or a F2 foul. Red 1, out for the current game, Red 2, an addditional game. VAR has added a few things that aren't good for the game, so adjusting the penalties seems fair at this point.Phalanx wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2026 8:51 am Belgium is trying desperately to reverse the reversal, haha. This would make sense to me. Anything with malicious intention makes sense to miss the next game.bellsduck wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2026 9:01 amWould be interesting to see two levels of Red's sort of like a F1 or a F2 foul.
