Briggs Roe is definitely someone to watch at SS or 2B. He was previously at Kansas State but then went to one of the top JUCO baseball programs in the Midwest. He had a modest first season but absolutely exploded this past season, hitting .427 with 27 HRs, 24 doubles, and 96 RBI in 70 games while leading his team to their first ever national JUCO title.HomeSickDuck wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2026 9:36 amThe timing of his commitment indicates Waz has most likely been waiting to see what a few guys were going to do in The draft. Probably had some NIL money open up when guys like Molony got drafted and are leaving. Wonder if he’s after any more bigger names that are left in the portal. Would really like a more proven D1 middle infielder and one more weekend rotation level pitcher. Was really hoping we could keep Gosztola, but sounds like he’ll probably sign.greenyellow wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2026 11:51 pmCouldn't believe it myself. Seems they're spending their NIL wisely and their track record of developing players is actually winning some starter-level guys over. Going to take some time learning all these new faces after having a fairly veteran and stable roster the past few seasons.UOducksTK1 wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2026 10:11 pmHow???? That’s a crazy good pickup. Acrually makes me feel a lot better about next years hitting. So curious to learn why he’s leaving usc. I know they lost a lot, but so did we!
I think Briggs Roe might be a diamond in the rough coming from JUCO.
