Kelvin Cain
LB out of Grant High School... committed to Miami "The U" a couple days ago. He wasn't even in midseason Top-10 for the State of Oregon, but got an offer from Miami. Pretty impressive. Good luck to him.

Much like Ben Voogd (Florence) in basketball. Didn't get much interest from the locals but pulled a full ride from LSU.oreducks77 wrote:LB out of Grant High School... committed to Miami "The U" a couple days ago. WOW! His next best (reported) offers were San Jose State and Nevada. Good for him.

Oh, looks like he moved down to CA his senior year... even though Rivals still has him listed as being from Portland/Grant... guess that's why we didn't hear much about it.

Exactly, it is what can happen when a school doesn't have recruiting ties to an area. I'm always skeptical of recruits that don't have offers from teams in their geographic region.damascusduck wrote:Yes, and we know how that worked out for himmaxduck wrote:Much like Ben Voogd (Florence) in basketball.
