Loved week 2, but nit-picky negative me can’t help but get a little nervous about Mehringer, specifically his comments about controlling tempo and running the ball. To me Oregon is too talented to have that mindset, I think Oregon should be a pass first offense trying to maximize explosion plays with a great running game to compliment it, not a running game to try and control tempo.
Meanwhile the all star defense should focus on 3 and outs and suffocating opposing defense, but from everything I’ve seen I truly think Hampton is the right man for the job so not too worried there.
I really hope we don’t see an underperforming offense again.

Ha that’s funny cuz I thought a similar thing with Mehringer’s response. It felt like a generic + non-adaptable + potentially stubborn response. On the other hand, I really loved Hampton’s response cuz he identified weaknesses to be assessed.

I'm excited for the season, but we have every right to be wary of Mehringer. He was hired within from a non-elite coaching tree. I'm putting a ton of trust in Dan Lanning that something about Mehringer jumped off the page and that he'll be a clear upgrade over Will Stein.
Willie Taggart is a dick.
