Is the latest news that Rolando Jefferson isn't supposed to qualify? I didn't realize that he was teammates with Harris. Talk about a "playmaking" wide receiver.

Every thing that I have heard has said it wasn't likely that Jefferson would qualify and would have to go the JC route. I believe that if something did happen and he qualified he would be a duck but thats just my opinion.

IIRC, Rolando is going to have to bust his ass just to get into a JC

Now shouldn't everyone start griping that the coaches don't know what they're doing because we had to settle for a CB that might have to redshirt to get bigger. That's unacceptable

I don't think many of the complaints are this uneducated. I think most of the complaints have to do with our ability to sustain a top-level program. This has to do with bringing in top-tier talent with the full knowledge that freshmen aren't necessary for next year particularly. It's the extended future of the program we are all contemplating. Nice dig though.

Great news! Welcome to the family, Cliff!

From scout's article:
"When they saw my highlights, the coaches said I could play receiver in college. Maybe not my freshman year, but maybe down the line," said Harris.

Interesting. Personally, I think we'd need him at CB right now than WR, but we shall see.

Huge commit for the ducks.

I want the top "cover corner" in the country playing cornerback at Oregon.

Duckgrad99, the bearer of good news?

Great pick up, with out a doubt. After BB, I think this was the most important kid to get, especially with the departure of Byrd.

I agree dthomas. A shutdown corner in college is huge. He is by far our best get at that position ever IMO.

Good get :D .... but I highly doubt a true frosh will start right away. Especially with what we have coming back. Thurmond's a lock for one side. Jackson, Gildon and Glaspar all experienced for the other side. He would be better off to redshirt, get bigger and learn the D. I would hate to see him just play special teams and waste a year. Unless of course he's returning punts and kicks for TDs...

Best commit star power rise this season and maybe even bigger than last years class. The talk is that Harris would have been the top rated cover corner had he not had his grade issues. He was going into the season the top CB in the nation and then dropped as the season went on and he didn't play the entire season as he had to sit out.

Harris could play right away at Oregon but I don't see him starting right away. Too much depth and talent ahead of him that will IMO prevent him from starting day 1.

Bulking up and to continue improving in the classroom will be the areas of improvement for this guy.

I don't believe he will strictly play DB or WR when he gets here. He could certainly end up starting at CB and then being used here and there as a WR.

Absolutely ecstatic at this news, even though it was expected for a long time. I want him at corner; our offense seems to be doing fine with what we have, while our defense is definitely our weakness.
