I must admit I'm nervous about this game. The 11.5 point spread for Oregon seems a little generous to me. And then I see one of the OLive guys pick the Ducks by 20. Would love to have that level of confidence, but I don't.
Count me among those happy for the bye week after the big win at USC. I would think that should allow them to really expand the playbook for an already confident Raiola getting first team reps (and Dante now being officially declared out for this game, as I'm guessing most of us figured he would be). Really looking forward to seeing how Raiola plays on Saturday.
Would be kind of funny if it turned out that not only will Dante not play against his old team this week, but that Raiola doesn't play against his old team the following week because Dante is ready to go.

With Lanning, he’s been great with most stuff, but not when he has time off. Hope he figures it out this week

No surprise that Dante is out but potentially not having Flowers available could be a major issue against UCLA. Imagine Woodyard will get a lot of snaps, as well as Jett Washington seeing more PT than usual.

Isn't that interesting? It's almost like a guy who excels in motivation has a hard time keeping the motivation up over longer periods. We like watching all the videos, but sometimes I wonder if the schtick gets old when you hear it every day.buckmarkduck wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 12:19 am With Lanning, he’s been great with most stuff, but not when he has time off. Yeah thankfully UCLA is a run first squad, but don't want to give UCLA any hope on offense.greenyellow wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 12:54 am No surprise that Dante is out but potentially not having Flowers available could be a major issue against UCLA. I would like to see both Washington and McNutt play some reps.greenyellow wrote:No surprise that Dante is out but potentially not having Flowers available could be a major issue against UCLA. Imagine Woodyard will get a lot of snaps, as well as Jett Washington seeing more PT than usual.

If it got old, we’d lose starters in the portal. So far we have only lost backups. So I don’t think that’s the issue.Phalanx wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 8:29 amIsn't that interesting? Seems like UCLA thinks they can run on the Oregon defense.

Based on them having 2 Receivers out, as well as being a running oriented team, I'd expect the Ducks to focus on stopping the run and make them beat us with their weakened passing game.Bigwaved wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 2:41 pmI would like to see both Washington and McNutt play some reps.greenyellow wrote:No surprise that Dante is out but potentially not having Flowers available could be a major issue against UCLA. Woodyard should be fine? A three year starter at St. John Bosco, top 125 recruit, early enrollee of DeBoer's first (#2 rated) class at Alabama. Participated in their bowl practices then Spring ball and left for Oregon. Has played in all 29 games since coming to Oregon, a lot of special teams and 230 position snaps (31 total tackles). His PFF grades last year were in the respectable 73-74 range.
I believe the only question about Woodyard going all the way back to h.s. (and in no way meaning to pick on him here) has been cover speed. Of course, if somewhat accurate, it doesn't mean he can't play S (only the margin of error may be reduced, possibly in the Kobe Savage/Brandon Johnson model where it worked fine, even well, until those tier 1 athletes would show up and eventually get a step). His high school recruiting evaluation does not mention any struggles in coverage; and, credits him as a strong tackler.
Playing a run heavy team should be a good place for his first career start. Be interesting to see when/if UCLA targets and tests him in coverage. If you had to have a spot where an injury pops up for a game or two right now, the Flowers spot seems to among those in good position?

Are either wr any good though? Or are they equivalent to us losing Resler?SuperDuck wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 3:47 amBased on them having 2 Receivers out, as well as being a running oriented team, I'd expect the Ducks to focus on stopping the run and make them beat us with their weakened passing game.Bigwaved wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 2:41 pmI would like to see both Washington and McNutt play some reps.greenyellow wrote:No surprise that Dante is out but potentially not having Flowers available could be a major issue against UCLA. Sounds like Matthews was their starting slot receiver, having barely beaten out the guy behind him (Semaj Morgan) for that gig. The other guy wasn't on the 3-deep - looks like a true freshman.
