Dan waited too long to pull the plug on #8. That kid was overwhelmed. Unfortunate. The playoff hill became pretty steep. Maybe too much so.

Now we can just enjoy the rest of the season based on no playoff expectations. This team just is not playoff caliber. Hope it drives changes because having one of the top NILs in the country and this is what we get, should be unacceptable.

Which is why it's time to move on from Lanning. Can't run the program with zero accountability. Starting to believe the rumors of guys not working out during the off-season.OfaFeather wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:19 pm Lanning won’t fire anyone, he will say it’s his fault, but then change nothing.

Lanning looking to be far from that elite coach we thought he was.wepto wrote:Which is why it's time to move on from Lanning. Can't run the program with zero accountability. Holy smokes, I swear some people in this fan base are insane. Who do you think they would get that would be an upgrade? They finally get a guy that actually wants to stick around Eugene, and you're ready to push him out the door at the first sign of adversity. I hate the fire everyone culture in sports these days. It's absolutely annoying.wepto wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:20 pmWhich is why it's time to move on from Lanning. Can't run the program with zero accountability. I thought the spot was wrong on the 2 point conversion and wondered why it wasn't closer and guessed I was crazy? Really sad if no one on the staff knew better. If you are considering running Davison, that extra yards is huge.

Beyond the piss poor performance some huge coaching blunders cost us the game.
-The 2 pt conversion
-Kick out of bounds that took away any chance of getting in field goal position.
Anything else?

Fully unacceptable. Not even remotely close to a playoff team, with the amount of money they are paying? This is the NY Mets. This is representative of teams that overpay. It is representative of poor coaching the talent they have. Worse teams fire coaches for less egregious letdowns. Time to look at the top down.GDuck wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:20 pm Now we can just enjoy the rest of the season based on no playoff expectations. This team just is not playoff caliber. You could clearly see Dan arguing it. They stopped the play briefly to talk to him after they'd announced the half yard line. The refs were wrong, so having it at the 1.5 yard line was correct. You can't do half the distance from the end of a play that didn't count (since it was a 2 pt conversion).OrTDuck wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:27 pm I thought the spot was wrong on the 2 point conversion and wondered why it wasn't closer and guessed I was crazy? 99% of the colleges out there would take Lanning in a heartbeat. He won the big10 Oregon's first season in it, went to the playoffs twice and had the unfortunate luck of having his coordinators with one foot out the door both seasons. Sure, he made a bad call with this OC, but let's wait and see if he learns from it after this season.

I’m not ready to get rid of Lanning but I’m ready and hoping for Lanning to make some drastic changes. If not now, at least at the end of the season.droop10 wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:26 pmHoly smokes, I swear some people in this fan base are insane. The rules guy said the play with the penalty still counts. Said something about already having a call with the B1G and them saying the refs applied the penalty wrong (unless I heard it wrong), I am sure more will be clarified this week.droop10 wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:29 pmYou could clearly see Dan arguing it. I beg to differ. They beat a good Boise State team, lost to Okie State, which was an obvious fluke, but they're still a decent team. If we had Dante today, or if Thomas had come in sooner, we would have won this game.GDuck wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:20 pm Now we can just enjoy the rest of the season based on no playoff expectations. We still control our own destiny. Win out and we're in. We've beaten Ohio State in the shoe before. Even if we lose another game, it's still possible that we could make the conference title game.
I've tried to temper my expectations due to my health. Can't get too high or too low, but I'll always love my Ducks.
By the way, anyone who's calling for Lanning's job are are nuts!!

For the record I am not either, I still believe in Dan, but he can’t keep riding out on these type of hires, he needs to show he’s serious about being elite at Oregon and make some coaching changes, starting with Terry and/or Mehringer.GDuck wrote:I’m not ready to get rid of Lanning but I’m ready and hoping for Lanning to make some drastic changes. Has Oregon ever replaced a coordinator mid season? Offense calls sucked. Lanning should have yanked Dylan at halftime. Kid had all week with the 1s and that is what he plays like?
