AMP Weekley Whispers: Owa

Skip ahead to 1:45. Owa wants Nebraska & if he had his choice he'd go there. Family keeping the Ducks in it & Chips in-home went really well.

By the sound of that the good news is that it looks like UCLA is out so if he isn't a Ducks, at least he won't be in the pac10. Hopefully, distance works in our favor this time.

If Owa comes to Oregon, we can thank his mom. I hope she can convince him to stay local.

My source just said Chip is officially back!
It will be announced at Autzen press conference tomorrow afternoon!

No Doubt. That's really whats keeping us in the mix. If it comes down to us & Nebraska I think we'll get him. Nebraska being so far away almost takes them out of it no matter how much he likes them. C'mon Mom! Win a recruiting battle for us just this once.

Again.. I think this is where family will keep OWA at Oregon! he is really close to his bros and sis and mom...and he is representing the family and they want to see his games in person. I think this means a lot to Owa! The huckleberry fans and school have really been working hard on OWA..I mean they need someone to replace suh! I think it holds truth that its between 2 schools now.. Neb vs Oregon

Personally, Oregon's program is on its way up! Nebraska still has some work to do. This decision will be tough on Owa... I think if Owa leans Nebraska he will consult suh on the distance....and how suh adjusted to attending college out of state! I could see owa at the last moment putting on the husker hat! I hope not!

We've lost a ton of top recruits because of family, hopefully we'll be able to retain one for once.

I agree with everything except your eval of Nebraska. They're definitely on the way back. They were a couple bad bounces away from being a 1 loss team.

Isn't his next oldest brother a Jr and on the football team too?

We should offer him! Do what it takes to get OWA!

Interesting report. The last recruit mentioned (Anthony Barr) committed to UCLA yesterday.

On D Nebraska looked very good last year, but their O is pretty poor and inconsistent. They are definitely on the rise, but hopefully Owa will decide to stay close to home and be apart of the great run Oregon is about to go on.

I just read the Rivals interview with him after the Nebraska in-home.... it sounds like he's trying to convince his mom, and he was rooting for Nebraska to win her over, towards the end of the in-home she was asking questions about how often he would be able to come home, how much time he has off, etc... so that could either be a good or bad thing.
