Agreed...The troubling part is that this seemingly is a recurring threat, to the teams performance and success, each and every year. Other teams have injuries, I get that...But, it seems that the Ducks have more than our fair share, including our skilled position players, that surely can affect our overall success...
And, if that isnt enough, we are faced with a significant loss of personnel through attrition, resulting from some Bonehead Move, like DUII's or similar activities... All I can do is shake my head in wonderment, as to what could have been.

Fully agreed. It's really annoying too because Chip Kelly was one of the innovators in having less intense practices over 15 years ago and Indiana has followed that lead to the most improbably championship in modern NCAA football a few years later. There is no reason our players should be beating the s*** out of one another in fall practice.

Not going to be excited to see Raiola. People were excited to see Raiola START against UCLA.
He looked great for most of three quarters against USC and in crunch time on Saturday, leading us to a dramatic comeback with everything on the line. Yes, it's unfortunate he s*** the bed against UCLA, but if we're being real that wasn't all his fault. Our O-line was terrible in that game. I'm willing to bet he won't play that poorly again for as long as he's still playing football.

We don't need USC Raiola to win out the rest of our schedule. We just need Nebraska Raiola. And definitely not UCLA Raiola ha.

I don't feel like Dante Moore is coming back. He's practicing, which I'm pretty sure means he's cleared. I think he's just decided to shut it down until the draft.
He wasn’t good, but if not for 5 fumbles we would have won that game. It was a team loss

Raiola expected to start tomorrow. If they start the OL group they ended the Nebraska game with, and are able to effectively run the ball to start this game, that should go a long way towards helping Raiola play well.

Cignetti employs the opposite practice strategy, where they only spend 6 of the 20 allowed hours per week on the practice field and emphasize short, efficient practices with almost zero live tackling.

Lanning has actually argued that a team practicing to avoid injuries can actually make them more vulnerable to injury.

Injuries are weird and I don’t know if there’s conclusive data that proves one particular practice strategy results in fewer injuries but Cignetti’s approach is hard to argue with. Less wear and tear throughout the season, likely fewer injuries as a result of cumulative stress/fatigue, and still the best coached, most fundamentally sound team in the country.

I don't know, it seems like one of the main criticisms people had of Mark Helfrich was that he elevated Don Pellum to DC and then Pellum's guys couldn't tackle anyone because he was too soft in practice. It wasn't the offense, which did dip in the last year (Herbert's freshman season) to just under 500 yards/game. 'Pillows Pellum' I think he was called. So now Lanning's defense, which is killing it the last several games, practices too hard? Seems like we can't win here.
