Most Infamous Former Duck?
Got in a debate with friends so curious what people think on this forum.
I thought about doing most famous duck too but pretty sure we all know who that is, our only Heisman Winner.

I like the premise, but your list needs some work. Why would Prukop be on the list? Just because he wasn't good and gave way to Justin?
Where is LeGarrette Blount? And if we are including Seastrunk who never played a down at Oregon, why not Ritchie Incognito? Maybe you have to define what 'infamous' means.

Prukup was terrible. We
Would have just one loss if he was our qb since Moore went out. There is a good shot he would be the top guy in the BIG right now.
But to answer your question, none of yours make the top 5.

DAT? He makes the block against Stanford and that team likely wins the national championship.

It was players and coaches that came to mind and I’m sure I missed some. I was mainly thinking of guys that didn’t just not play, but borderline sabotages games/seasons and/or had bad attitudes or spoke poorly about the team after they left, which is why I had Lache and Colt. But I added other cause I figured there would be other good options that I missed.Phalanx wrote:I like the premise, but your list needs some work. Why would Prukop be on the list? I don't know the story behind Maldonado. Maybe my definition of infamous is different than others.
4 football names that come to mind immediately:
1)Dwight Robertson
2)Jeremiah Masoli
3)Cliff Harris
4)Irele Oderinde

My definition as backed by most dictionaries requires widespread fame for a notorious act. I picked Taggart for hiring and covering for Oderinde. using the Oregon recruiting plane to interview with Florida State, lying about it and then famously being a crappy coach at Florida State.bellsduck wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 11:45 am I don't know the story behind Maldonado. Second would be the "infamous" Blount punch. That was a national story and 3rd Masoli also a national story. Lyerla's problems were basically unknown outside of Oregon.

Who was the DC in the Bellotti era who had the D-Line playing one yard off the ball?
Was it Rich Stubler?
He totally sucked! I think he lasted one year?

3 people have voted for Maldonado but no one can say why he is infamous?

Because he missed not only a ton of kicks, but crucial kicks that could’ve resulted in Oregon winning a national championship. At a certain point it was on Chip for trusting him. But he choked every single game.bellsduck wrote:3 people have voted for Maldonado but no one can say why he is infamous?
Plus recently it’s come to light that he was a bad teammate. Barner was talking about the 2011 USC loss when Maldonado missed a pretty easy kick to send the game into OT. He said players were heartbroken and crying in the laughing room and he looked over and Maldonado was flirting and laughing with his girlfriend like it didn’t matter. And I do remember his postgame interviews where he kept saying it wasn’t on him, it was a team loss, didn’t own up to his miss or take any blame at all.
Another infamous moment was his kick against Stanford in 2012 when he had a chip shot, almost like a PAT, and he missed. That would’ve put Oregon up 17-7 and probably would’ve won Oregon the game.

So indeed your definition of infamous is much different than what a lot of us thought.OregonFan4Life wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2026 10:23 amBecause he missed not only a ton of kicks, but crucial kicks that could’ve resulted in Oregon winning a national championship.
